DirectUnlocks.com operates out of Worcester Great Britain. They operate a two tier cell phone unlock service.

Phones cam be unlocked by vontacting the carrier such as ATT, Spectrum, Verizon etc. The IMEI number is used to unlock the phone so another carrier can be used.

DirectUnlocks.com is based in Great Britain and is the parent company of ExpressUnlocks.com based in the USA.

The company charges you (at the time of this report May19th 2023) $28.99 to SCAN your phone for issues that might prevent you from unlocking the phone.

The scan is a fraud. We used two phones to test the service. My associates at Spectrum have received numerous complaints from customers about this service. Upon receiving so many complaints we setup a double test for comparison.

The first phone was an LG stylo 6 that had been tested and verified that it could be unlocked by Spectrum. The second was a LG stylo 6 that was black listed by Spectrum for this test. Both phones were tested DirectUnlocks.com.eaxh phone returned a positive result saying it could be unlocked for an additional fee of $45.

We paid the $28.99 for each phone to be scanned. Then paid $45 for each phone to be unlocked. The expected results should have been one phone unlocked after the scan. One phone remained locked after the scan.

Both phones were tested and assured they could be unlocked. Both phones remained locked after the additional $45 fee was paid.

DirectUnlocks.com kept the scan fee of $28.99 for both phones. The charge was held in a pending state for 7 days.

While waiting 5 to 7 days for the unlock to take place both $45 charges were cleared in 2 days. There was a count down page given to us that stated the phone was being unlocked. This was a hoax. Within a few hours DirectUnlocks.com responded with an email stating both phones could not be unlocked. They issued a scan credit for the $28.99 on thier site. Then both IMEI numbers were placed in a blacklist database.

Results:

Loss of $28.99 x 2

Loss of $45.00 x 2

Loss of both IMEI numbers to a Blacklist

When we complained about the fraud to DorectUnlocks.com they cut off communications. They immediately added the IMEI number to the international blacklist.

Spectrum has access to this list. The time stamp shows that it was added after the complaint and from an IP address in Worcester, GB.

When I declined to enroll they took out the loan about 30 days after. They never provided a login, schedule or anything. They simly failed me out 30 days later. Then it was put on my credit report.

It does not matter. It has been sent to the same agent at the BCI that I reported ITT Tech to. It will get resolved I asure you.

The only people that need to read it is the BCI. They have. Now its time to watch the dominos fall.

I was refunded partialy via Chime. Then the company tried to bill me $1 thru Google services. I turned off International Transactions. This protected me.
