We booked this hotel for a business trip in their area.  We paid in advance for three nights.  We stayed the first night and it was such a bad experience we tried to check out and get a refund on two nights.  The hotel was filthy!  The front door did not latch properly, the carpets were dirty, the walls were dirty, the elevator was dirty and it had tiles coming up in it.  There was no saftety stop on the elevator door, if it hit something like your leg or your luggage it kept trying to close and did not re-open.  Our room was even worse.  The carpets there were dirty also. There were peanuts on the floor for the previous guest.

The light switches had embedded dirt on them, there was a broken plug-in cover, the ceiling had a poorly patched area about 5' by 7' that looked horrible, the furniture was mismatched and it looked like it had been built in and then torn out and moved to a different room.  You could see holes where there used to be doors on the cabinets that were removed and there were lots of unfinished areas on the furniture.  The internet did not work, the wooden hangers were so sticky we had to wash them before we could use them.  I slept fully clothed with a hood over my head so I wouldn't catch something from the facility.

In the morning the hot water ran out before my husband could take a shower.  We refused to eat their breakfast because the hotel was so dirty.  We complained the next morning to the front desk worker and told him we wanted to check out and not pay for the next two nights.  We were told that they could move us to another room but nothing else could be done.  We asked to have a manager call us when she got in and the manager never called us, just made the front desk worker call us.  We were told the maintenance worker for the building checked the hot water and nothing was wrong with it,

which we knew was a lie because we were in town doing some training for a local HVAC company that had given them a bid on replacing their two hot water heaters two weeks earlier.  We were not given a refund for the two days we did not stay because we "got a discounted rate on all three nights".  We offered to pay full price for the first night if they would give us a refund on the other two, they would not do that.  We were told no refunds with the deal we got.  They insisted that we could move to another room, which I am sure would be equally disguisting.  The customer service in this facility is HORRIBLE!   It is the filthiest place I have stayed and I have travelled a lot!  I would not recommend anyone stay there. This place is a joke and the owner doesn't care about anything besides making money.

DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY - did I forget dirty?

My report is about the uncleanliness and lack of professionalism of this establishment.  I am a registered nurse and I am educated on the spread of disease and how to prevent it.  Obviously you are the owner or know the owner based on how quickly you replied to my post. I did not expect a 4 or 5 star hotel.  I did expect a clean room and I do expect hot water as does most every other person that rents a room.   My pictures show a DIRTY establishment.  Just because it is in need of repair does not mean that it cannot be clean.  I am not the first person to complain about this place check the ratings that are all over the internet.  As for the money, I didn't stay in the dirty place 2 out of 3 nights and I shouldn't have to pay for the two nights that you couldn't sucker someone else into renting it. The elevator may have been inspected in the last year but that does not mean it is not broken now.  You are correct, this is a safety hazard and  I do need to report it to the state/government.   On a sign in the room titled "A Promise As Sure As the Sun" is the following statement "As our guest you can expect warm hospitality and clean comfortable rooms where everything works, to make your stay trouble-free and enjoyable.  We work hard to earn our reputation as "The Best Value Under The Sun".  Guess the owner didn't read that sign.

So basically...

SO basically your report is about them NOT giving you a refund and LESS about the cleanliness of the building. Let me guess, you did this all online. Probably through some third party travel group. Got a discounted rate, and was expecting a 4 or 5 star rated hotel. But when you get there you see its at best a 2 to 3 star rateing and decide to try and get your money back. I have examined all of your pictures. Nothing looks amiss for a 2 to 3 star roadside hotel. Its meant to be that place you pull into and grab a few hours sleep and go on. And it looks like THE CUSTOMERS that stay there agree and treat the place as such.

Hot water runs out deal with it. I HIGHLY doubt it was as dirty as YOU make it sound. Even your pictures suggest that this a older structure and the maintenance staff is fighting against TIME. No this is just a consumer complaint that they DID NOT GET THEIR WAY!! They may have been unhappy in general and just wanted to go else where. But when they found out there was no refund on their discounted package, thats when the poster becomes HYPERCRITICAL. When the consumer doesnt get their way they ALWAYS try and find ways in order to get their way. NOT giving you a refund is NOT a ripoff. Its a rodeside hotel/motel. Not the Ritz. I suspect that this poster is hypercritical in most situations.

Also, be careful as to what you post about businesses. ALWAYS preface ANY comment with "In My Opinion". This way you can avoid those nice little lawsuits for slander. The defamation of character is easy to prove in this post. You have the right to complain, you DO NOT have the right to make up lies and present them as facts. Thats what gets people sued.

And not to put too fine a point on this, but elevators have to be inspected EVERY year. If the elevator did not have a close guard on it, then you need to complain to the appropriate govt/state agency as that is a serious risk.
