On December 2, 2021 my daughter adopted 2 American Eskimo dogs through the rescue agency DAWGZ, TAILZ & WAGZ ("DTW") owned by WENDY KIRSNER, in Phoenix, AZ.
The dogs were microchipped on or about December 8, 2021 WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER'S AUTHORIZATION OR CONSENT as my daughter had already become the new owner on December 2, 2021.
The microchips DTW used was from PETLINKS.
On or about January 26, 2022, WENDY KIRSNER FROM DTW, fraudulently, and with malicious, vexatious intentions went online through PETLINK's online "Registration Portal" and reverted the ownership from my daughter back DTW using a "Hidden Guardian Clause Petlink" has that consumers are not aware of.
We only found out by happenstance after my daughter had received an Email from PETLINK notifying her that "THIS PET IS NO LONGER ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR PETLINK ACCOUNT SO YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY FUTURE COMMUNICATION REGARDING *********"
IN SUMMARY - PETLINK DOES NOT GIVE A S*** IF YOU ARE THE OWNER OF YOUR ADOPTED PETS. THEY GIVE RESCUE AGENCIES, SHELTERS ETC. CARTE BLANCHE RIGHTS TO CHANGE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR PET BACK TO THEMSELVES AND THERE IS NOTHING THE NEW OWNER CAN DO ABOUT IT.
THIS IS PETLINK'S INFORMATION THAT WE ONLY FOUND OUT ABOUT WHEN WE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH PETLINK. WE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE AZ ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE CONSUMER COMPLAINT DIVISION AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION FOR PETLINK'S ALLEGED FRAUDULENT AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES.
This is what we found out:
OVERVIEW
PetLink offers Mass Import of multiple prepaid microchip registrations and transfers of ownership for Animal Professionals, so that you can upload pet data in bulk, saving valuable time entering individual records.
PetLink’s Mass Import is based on a simple, easy to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheet template, where owner and pet data are input into one document, which then can be uploaded into PetLink directly at one time. Mass Import enables immediate registration, and eliminates the need for individual registration and transfer of ownership forms that have to be mailed or faxed to PetLink.
Mass Import also helps ensure that pet owner contact data remains in secure hands. We are committed to our customers’ privacy; Mass Import creates an efficient and effective means to complete registration or transfer of ownership quickly and ensures that the privacy of both you and your clients is protected. Your facility will receive a confirmation report and each individual pet owner will receive a PetLink welcome email following a successful import.
In order to use Mass Import, your facility needs to have a valid, free, Animal Professional account with PetLink. Once your account is created, you can access the Mass Import template and instructions for completing a data upload by clicking on the Mass Import link in the left navigation menu in PetLink. If you have questions or need assistance at any time, contact us at [email protected]. We’ll get back to you within one business day – usually less!

Guardian:
Linking You, Your Clients and Pets
By using PetLink’s Mass Import feature, YOUR FACILITY WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE LISTED AS "GUARDIAN" FOR EVERY PET REGISTERED - SOMETHING THAT A PET OWNER OR ADOPTER CANNOT EDIT. THIS ADDS YOUR FACILITY AS A PERMANENT CONTACT in case the pet is ever found far from home but its family cannot be reached. IT HELPS TO ENSURE THAT YOU CAN REMAIN INVOLVED IN THE PET'S CARE AND IN MAKING DECISIONS ON HOW IT IS TO BE TREATED AND POSSIBLY REHOMED if that animal is ever unfortunately surrendered again.

"Consumer fraud, as defined by Arizona law, is any deception, unfair act or practice, false statement, false pretense, false promise or misrepresentation made by a seller or advertiser of merchandise. In addition, concealment, suppression or failure to disclose a material fact may be consumer fraud if it is done with the intent that others rely on such concealment, suppression or nondisclosure. Merchandise may include any objects, wares, goods, commodities, intangibles, real estate or services.
The Arizona Attorney General has the authority to bring actions alleging violations of the Consumer Fraud Act and other state and federal consumer protection laws. A private citizen can also bring an action for a violation of the Consumer Fraud Act within one year from the date the claim arises.
The Federal Trade Commission also has Consumer Protection Laws when it comes to what business must publicly disclose and that it must be disclosed in a visible location that a reasonable consumer can see, read, and understand.
We encourage all Pet Owners who have adopted from agencies and had their pets microchipped by a Datamars company report to your governing agencies in your state or country so they can be held legally accountable for their alleged harmful, deceptive, and fraudulent actions against consumers who adopt pets.
