Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Yesterday I had the worst experience with Toyota of Brandon and the Hillsborough County Police Department. While getting an oil change, one of the "workers" stole medical marijuana from my truck. My medicine was inside the console in my truck so the culprit had to open my center console to take it. The manager "watched the camera" and determined that he couldn't see which of the two guys took it. Of course I called the police to file a report since it was a controlled substance that was taken.

When the police arrived, he informed me that the manager said there were two people in my truck but the camera was too high to see which one took it.  I tried to get the police to take fingerprints of the button used to open the console but he refused. He told me that I could take Toyota of Brandon to Civil court if I felt the need to. Why should I have to spend money in civil court when a criminal action took place?  Why am I being made to feel like the victim when my prescription was stolen by a worker at Toyota of Brandon.

The manager, Zack Kelley refused to give me the names of the people that worked on my truck in an attempt to brush everything under the rug. He stated that he was worried about me "slandering" their name even though I gave him no reason to think that I would do such a thing.  After the police gave me my case number, I went to the police station to see if someone could fingerprint the console on my truck and add the fingerprints to my case. They refused as well and said that there was no proof of a crime being committed even though the video clearly shows the workers inside of my truck while they were "changing my oil".

This is the first time something like this has happened and I ALWAYS take my truck there. I have nothing but good things to say about Toyota as a whole; however, I'm very disappointed in the way that Zack Kelley and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office handled this situation. Yes I have disabilities and use medical marijuana but that should not cause people to treat me like a criminal or drug addict.

Would this have been handled differently if the worker took my Vyvanse or Xanax instead of my marijuana? Why is it ok for someone to steal my medical marijuana and get away with it?
