I took my computer into their shop on Monday, December 3, 07, around 4 pm. When I dropped it off told them my problem and that i wanted to save my photos. They told me i would need to pay $89.99 for them to look over the computer. The next day they called and asked me to drop off my disk. I did and was told it would be 1-2 days. I had not heard from them on Thursday evening so i called them. He informs me that for $189.00 he could clean off my computer completely with no pictures saved. But for $289.00 he could clean off my computer and save my photos. I said save my photos and we hung up.

Not sure of the price with or without the $89.00 i had already paid, i called him back. He said that would be an additional $289.00. I asked what my fee would be to come in and just pick up my computer not fixed with no photos and he said they had already put 3 hours into my computer and my fee would be $179.00 for their time. So i gave them permission to continue to repair my computer. He called me back 10 minutes later and said they have been doing this for $14 years and are not out to take advantage of anyone. That they would give me an $89.00 discount.

So Monday 10th they called and said come by pick up the disk and look it over so we can clean off your computer. When i picked up the disk he said i needed to pay $200.00 for the disk and there would be no additional charge if my photos were on the disk. They would just need to repair the computer and return it to me. After getting home and trying on two computers to pull up the photos with no luck, i started thinking nothing was on the disk. Finally my X-box 360 brought up 3850 photos, of which 800 were my photos. So i called him on Tuesday and told him i had all my photos.

I called Wednesday and Friday and drove over on Saturday. I finally got a call Saturday around 2:30 to come and pick up my computer. When i got there i was shown the computer and told i owed an additional 89 dollars. We argued over the total cost to repair the computer and save the photos, and why i was not informed of the cost beforehand. I would have never left it in their care. For the cost of repairs ($ 378.99) i could of almost had a new computer. I could of had someone come to my house to repair it like geek squad. They claim to have worked on my computer for a total of 12 1/2 hours. They would not give me a copy of what i signed when i dropped it off untill i signed that my computer was working to my satisfaction. This will be going to the courts to resolve this issue. I don't think they should have done it for free, but they should be more upfront about their cost and not wait till 3 hours into the computer to give them an ultimatum of what they want to do when it was pretty clear what I wanted when I dropped it off.

Don't do business with this company, they will claim to do hours of labor at a high cost to you. guess they have to pay rent somehow.
