Collectorsemall David Rock Failed to refund money after I returned book Rialto CA
This Abebooks seller should be avoided at all costs. Aside from the 3-star rating he has (Abebook ratings are based on returns and are not customer-generated), my experience with his has been absolutely terrible.
I bought a book that was clearly stated as a first edition. It was not. I emailed him and he said to return it and he would refund my money. I carefully packaged the book and sent it in a box to ensure that he'd be able to resell it. He refunded the cost of the book, but not the shipping fees that I paid.
He asked me to conduct the transaction outside of Abebooks, a violation of their terms. He wanted me to do that so it didn't impact his rating. Against my better judgment, I agreed. By doing so, he was able to claim that my reason for refund was "customer no longer wants." This reason allowed him to refund just the book, not the shipping.
When I reached out to him, he told me that he would refund me once he figured out how to do it. I offerd him my Venmo account and Paypal. He told me Paypal would work. I sent him my Paypal account info.
And he went dark.
After a week and several unanswered emails, I told him that I would be complaining to Abebooks, as well as other outlets (including Ripoff Report). He chose to ignore this email as well.
It's literally only about $7, but I'm getting tired of dealing with these shady Abebooks dealers. There's plenty of great dealers and sellers on that site, but they are becoming fewer and farther between.
Collectorsemall should be avoided at all costs.

The owner paid in full today after a phone call. I'd remove this if I were allowed to. I'm not sure what took so long but after a phone call he paid immediately. I appreciate him making it right.
