I am writing in regards to horrible experiences I have encountered, while attempting to utilize an extended warranty purchased through Circuit City for my HP laptop.  My contract number is 856580263, it was purchased 20 March 2007, to provide addition service for three years.  My first encounter was April 29, 2009.  Upon contacting the toll free number listed on the warranty, I discover that your company did not consider APO/FPO address as part of the United States.  APO/FPO addresses are federal military installations, which have mail deliver through the United States Postal System.  The postal system recognizes these locations as being within the US as well as many corporations.  This policy paced an additional financial cost on me.  I had already paid $219.00 for the warranty and because your service center could not ship an empty box directly to me, I paid $9.82 to have it forwarded.  Once I received the box, it cost $60.00 to return to laptop using three-day express service, delivery confirmation, and insurance.  After the computer was repaired, again it was required that I send it to a third party and have it forward again spending $60.00.  In order to exercise my warranty I spent $150.00.  This could have been done at no cost to me if you issued APO/FPO prepaid labels through the United States Postal System.

I am facing the same issue again because the computer repairs done in April did not repair the completely.  I am still stationed overseas and anticipate spending another $150.00 to return to computer to you.  With all the shipping cost, I have paid an excess of the price of the warranty.

As a U.S. Soldier, I, expected better understanding and cooperation.  As a customer, I did not expect a continued cost each time I exercised my warranty coverage.  I am convinced that your company has the resources to prohibit customers from incurring cost after they have paid for your service, especially in U.S. overseas military installation (APO/FPO).

It is now Dec 2009 and the unit has been returned to me again. This time they removed my CD/DVD burner and install a CD/DVD player.  They totally downgraded my computer and expect me to pay more postage to send it back to them. I was planning on contacting the local SJA to assist in this matter.
