Budget Rent a Car - Las Vegas Optional Insurance Rip-off Las Vegas, Nevada
Read your fine prints brfore you ever leave the rental counter. I made a mistake of not having my reading glasses with me when I rented a car from them; I reserved the car through Hotwire and specified that I do not need any Optional insurance; when the agent at the counter ask me again if I want to take their $16.99 Optional insurance, I told him "no".
When I get back to the hotel and checked the rental contract; guess what? The optional insurance is listed as accepted!! When I took it back after 2days (we went to Laughlin from Vegas), they insisted on charging me for the 2 days even though they were able to replay my conversation with the agent and heard me say "no". The reason? The Agent might have mis-understand my "no", so I have to read the fine prints before leaving the counter.
Complaints to Budget main office, Hotwire and my credit card company resulted in no additional actions.
So make sure you read your contract well, no matter how long the waiting line is. Let them wait.
