Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Than you guys. You saved me the second interview! What a sham! HOW DO THEY HAVE AN OFFICE ON BAY STREET?

I sent in my cv online in response to an ad in the paper. I was called in 5 days later by a lady with an english accent who arranged the meeting.

I got a thin, polished middle-aged man who was really very kind and seemed to really think that I have what it takes to go all-the-way to the top.

He welcomed me into his office after I'd waited only a couple minutes in the lobby wondering why the receptionists were closed-in behind a thick glass barrier (was that the english lady??!!) that they had to open manually to speak to me, and why the chair i was sitting on was so old...

He (My Senior Consultant) alludes to being able to "hook me up" with positions in the hidden job market through company contacts and stresses the balance of work and play. throwing 80k salaries and international job opportunitie stories around as if he really knew something that I did not.

He thoroughly goes through my resume, probing every detail out of each of my experiences and is scribbling illegible notes on the hard copy. He asks me about my salary expectations... I gave them, (awkward pause)he frowns at me, he says... I know you're worth a whole lot more than that!

I notice that, the computer on his desk is from the turn of the century as he hands me a little assignment to do.

It's a 20 question questionnaire, actually, now that i think of it, it's exactly that which is on their website! Once finished, he comes back in, tells me that all the answers I gave to the questions were fabulous and that he wished to meet me for a second interview... because, of course, he was the one who chose me afterall...

So he pulls out his agenda ( an old textbook with empty calendar sheets in it) and says "I'm really busy this week, but I'd like to slot you in for 2 days from now, at 7:30 am!

I guess this is his test to see how determined or desperate i am to find a job.

Oh yeah, he quickly mentions some notion of a fee, but, he says, we'll get to that the next time we meet...

The short of it is that I'm not going to the next meeting. I have not enough respect for this organization to call and tell him why not (i think he'll understand), and I thank you for giving me the heads-up.

I just have one question...HOW DO THEY HAVE AN OFFICE ON BAY STREET?

cheers,

Thank you for your experience. I've had a similar experience except for the fact that I did "not" give a downpayment, nor did I show up for the "second" (sales) interview. Thanks to this website I checked it out before the second interview.....as to "how does Bernard Haldane do it", is very SIMPLE. For every person who investigates the Company....most people do NOT. If you figure that 1 in 10 catch the bait, they've scored!! When I visited their office, I noticed that it appeared "empty" of people, but full of "decor.) Lastly, I noticed that when I needed to make a "personal" call in their offices. I was told that I needed to go down to the street and use a pay phone.....they didn't have "business lines" for potential people. Looking back....thank you Ripoff Report for saving me $5500. BH survives "by playing the odds".....which they've got down pat!
