This happened to my husband and I. Last October, my husband lost his job. We were able to manage the mortgage payments until March 2003 when we were contacted by a representative of Beneficial who stated that we were elgible for the hardship program. I paid the first payment on the hardship program that very evening via check by phone. Immediately, I started receiving harrassing phone calls from Beneficial. When I relayed that I was on the hardship program, I was told that it was not in the computer system and that I was being penalized. I received a letter from the Manager of the representative stating that in fact my hardship was not up until September of 2003. During the 6 months I was on the hardship I was continually harrassed, told that it was not in the computer system and that I was not on the hardship program, that I was in the hardship program but for only 3 months and that I was going to have my home taken from me. When does it ever end!!!!!
