I answered an ad on the Atlanta Craigslist:
Hiring 26' LTL & 53' FTL Direct Shipper Runs Inbound/Outbound ATL
The ad promises $12, 500 Gross per week, Signing bonus, Weekly Pay, 401k. I was brought on a zoom call, nobody had their camera on, and it was explained I must go to Penske to rent a 26' box truck for a day and they would auto renew it daily through Penske corporate (was told "just get the truck off the lot as cheap as possible") after which they will assign freight to run to me at $2500 minimum. I made arrangements with the manager T, he told me they would CashApp the money for the truck after I dropped the 2nd load and they would advance me for fuel and pay me for my work daily through CashApp after the first load was delivered. I rented the truck on a Friday for a total charge on my card of $348.97, followed instructions to let them know I was in the truck, they didn't have a run for me told me not to return the truck, no need to call Penske just park it for the weekend. I finally got a load on the following Wednesday, received several calls from Penske to return the truck but they told me don't worry. The load was booked through a freight broker TQL for an MC named JT Rollins Transport in Colorado. I picked up the load, delivered on time without any issues called for a fuel advance and they told me to hang on overnight. I did not have enough gas in the truck to get home and did not have any money to fill the tank so I parked in a Walmart parking lot and slept in the truck. The next day I called and called and sent texts to T, nobody would respond, this went on for 2 days. They left me stranded knowing I did not have any money will not answer the phone or text, I returned the truck to Penske and I owe over $2000, I had to have a friend drive 400 miles to pick me up. Today I see another ad on Craigslist trying to find new victims do not fall for this. I found a lawyer who is advertising for other Bad Boyz TMS victims across the country and is filing a class action lawsuit against Bad Boyz, the freight broker and the MC, looks like there are a lot of us that fell for this.
