Complaint Review: Axos tech inc - Langley Bc

I am writing this in regards to renting the main floor of one of Gloria’s houses located at 11848 96st. Do not even consider renting from her die the following reasons. Her kijiji ad stated that the upstairs unit is $920 including internet plus utilities. Then when we talked on the phone she brought up pet fees. It was not stated in the ad and since she had made that mistake we negotiated that I would only pay $25 for my three pets. Upon moving in I find out internet is not included in the rent. I have to pay the guy who lives downstairs. Also that only ONE of my FOUR windows that opened actually had a working lock on it.

The downstairs suite was not a legal suite as the windows were small and there was no stove. The stairs and laundry room separated our suites. Gloria and her "employees” would come and go out of that common space without ANY notice. Using my back door and downstairs tenants ONLY DOOR. Gloria would constantly leave gates open as she came in and out of the yard to do work without any notice. After cutting down multiple large branches from trees she just left them behind the garage blocking part of the alley and insisted that we used it for firewood. It was there for weeks. While cutting down part of one tree Gloria left a ladder propped up on the tree and left the property and did not return until multiple days later. I had to her someone to take it down because it was a huge hazard. (There were also kids living in the basement) When I asked why she had done that and explained my concerns she said the had run out to her a chainsaw and didn’t return because it had started to rain.

She knows full well I have a dog that I tie up in the yard and that would cause a threat to her. Most times someone came to the house they would leave one of three gates in the backyard open. I expressed my concern about gates being closed on multiple occasions because I have a dog. Who just happens to have been hit by a car. Being right off 96st this was extremely stressful for me when I saw the gates being left open. Hence why I always had my dog tied up in the yard even thought it was completely fenced in. Gloria did not give us a proper disposal bin for garbage and so I kept it in the shed to avoid animals digging through it. She constantly texted me to complain about the smell of the garbage.

Since I was unemployed at the time of move in Gloria stated that my pet fees would increase when I found a job. She did not state how much the rent would increase to nor did we discuss a date. So when the time came that she found out that I was working again she continuously harassed me over text demanding I pay her the money I owe her. It got to the point where I didn’t answer the phone cuz she would talk for over an hour about personal matters that I never asked about and she had stories she would repeat multiple times especially about her ex husband. She would also send me paragraphs at inappropriate times of the day and so I eventually blocked her number telling me I would only accept communication over email. Gloria sent someone to the property who I had never met on a Sunday morning at 8AM to apparently talk to me about the lawnmower. She gave no notice to me that he was coming and he just came into the yard, left the gate open and started trying to talk to me. This is just some experiences I had during the six months I stayed at this property. Please take this information into consideration if you see an ad from her.
