Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I had signed up for AT&T internet in November 2019. They told me that I would not have to pay anything until like a date in December 2019. She had told me that I would have to make three payments of $80 a month & then my bill would only be $50 a month. They had told me that I am on a year contract & would have to pay a $50 cancellation fee if I had decided to cancel.

I did not pay the bill in December 2019. However, I had called to cancel service before the 15th of December 2019. I had called in like late December 2019 or early January 2020 to ask how much it would be to restart my service. She said that I would only have to pay them what I owe them of $81. I just called them last week on the phone, & they had sent me to a collections department.

He said that I would have to pay them what I owe them of $81. He also told me that I would have to order new service from them. I tried to ask him how much it would cost to order a new service. He had never given me an answer for it & would not let me talk to customer service about it. Just today I got an email from AT&T stating that I owe them $241.83.

I know that there is no way possible that I should owe them that much money. I want to restore service with them next week, but I think that they should only charge me $81 of what I owe them and a cheap price or less than $50 to order new service of what I should only have to pay them that the next month after that.

They refuse to come get their own equipment &/or give me a return label to mail it back. They are going to charge me for it or make me pay to send it back. All other companies do things this way, so it should be illegal. I wish lawyers would look into this situation to sue AT&T. They have workers in my area who refuse to take it.

They just mailed me an empty box without a return label that I had received from UPS on 02/10/2020. How do they really feel that I am supposed to mail it back in a box without a return label? Businesses are supposed to give you a return label to mail back an item so that you do not have to pay for shipping & return costs.

I had tried to call their customer service #, but the operator would not allow me to connect with anybody since I had owed a balance. That is a red flag that AT&T is a scam. I want them to email me a return label to my email address, so that I can print it out, put it on the box, & return their internet modem so that I only owe them $89 as she had said that I would only owe them after they get their modem back.

I just noticed that they have a D- rating on the Better Business Bureau's website.

ATT is the worst in the world for this kind of crap. I will tell you what the UPS store told me, and that was to KEEP EVERY SHIPPING RECIEPT, PAPER OR ANY OTHER PROOF OF SHIPPING YOU HAVE FOREVER. After I closed my account with them, I called and texted and made them close my account completely.  If you don't do this, they will leave the account open and charge you a maintenance fee every month.

BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION, you failed to read the contract. YOU agreed to terms without reading what those terms were! The salesman didn't push or force you to do anything. YOU could have taken the time to READ what YOU were agreeing to.

That is 100% YOUR FAULT and you are attempting to blame the salesman for your own lack of common sense! Now's the time to write something stupid back like "you must work for them!"
