This scam is found on craigslist nationwid (specifically Van Nuys, CA; San Diego, CA; West Palm Beach, FL; Miami, FL; NY) At first you call and get a prerecorded message concerning a position as a LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER. The message gives you an address to show up to.

Once you arrive an overweight blonde hair older woman is waiting with an application. You fill it out and she takes you in her "husband's" office. He is also older, slicked back hair, thick neck, beer belly and 3 moles under his right eye. In my case he went by Marco but i'm sure this is not his real name. The interview will include this man telling you that through this program you will recieve a certification that costs $200. He CLAIMS it's through the Board of Education and the fees include a background check. Most likely he will insist on a cash payment however he has taken credit card payment. The office is rented. He will also show you his companies such as Kohl's, Macy's, Lowe's, Home Depot.

If you pay the money and return on the date indicated he will play a short video and proceed with his "class" for the next 2 hours. At the end, you get a a fake certificate where the sticker or "seal of excellence" is falling off. He was extremely unprofessional and used profanity frequently. If you find yourself in contact with this so called couple, call the police immediately. It's a scam. You do not end up with any interviews lined up.

You simply paid $200 for a fake certificate that YOU yourself can take on interviews that YOU find. It's highly illegal and needs to be stopped. Anyone who is administering an exam and does not know the difference between "there" and "their" is bulls***. These sad mfs need to find a real talent or passion besides this. Everyone in my "class" knew it was a scam. Sad. There is no background check. The certificate looks like a pre schooler's.
