Should I LOVE him or HATE him?

My company Transport Connection went from an "A" rating to an "NR" rating to an "A+" rating, but the false negative review is still posted on my BBB profile. I guess I should say "thanks Andre"? I am totally confused. I give up trying to figure this out.

In 2010 ABC's 20/20 reported in a segment titled "The Best Ratings Money Can Buy" about the irregularities in BBB ratings.[21] They reported that a man created two dummy companies which received A+ ratings as soon as he had paid the membership fee. They also reported that business owners were told that the only way to improve their rating was by paying the fee. In one case a C was turned to an A immediately after a payment and in another case a C‑minus became an A+. The chef Wolfgang Puck said that some of his businesses receive F's because he refuses to pay a fee. Ritz Carlton, which does not belong either, also receives Fs for not responding to its complaints.[20]

In response, the president of the International Association of Better Business Bureaus has stated the BBB ratings system will cease awarding points to businesses for being BBB members.[22] The national BBB's executive committee voted to address the public's perception of the ratings system. It voted that the BBB ratings system would no longer give additional points to businesses because they are accredited. It voted to implement a system to handle complaints about BBB sales practices.[23] Despite the vote, the BBB website still states that points are taken away if accreditation is lost.[24][25]

In Canada, CBC News reported in 2010 that Canadian BBBs were downgrading the ratings scores of businesses who stopped paying their dues. For example, a moving business who had an A rating and had been a BBB member for 20 years, dropped to a D‑minus rating when they allegedly no longer wanted to pay dues.[26]

BBBs have been accused of unduly protecting companies. If a branch does not act reasonably on behalf of a consumer, a complaint may be filed with the Federal Trade Commission. Moreover, recent reports have suggested that the Austin chapter of the Better Business Bureau refused to resolve complaints against companies if customers do not pay a $70 mediation fee.[27]

Additionally, while the BBB publishes names of corporations, it withholds the names of individuals lodging complaints.

Criticism on case resolutions[edit]

It has been alleged that the BBB encourages and solicits money from the very businesses they monitor.[28] The BBB states that they hold their Accredited businesses to a higher standard, as outlined in their Accreditation standards.[29] This behavior is likely the reason for such backronyms as, "Better for Businesses Bureau" and "Bribes from Businesses Bureau," popular nicknames for the organization presumably stemming from the frustration regarding the above criticisms.

On December 22, 2010, William Mitchell, CEO of the Los Angeles BBB, and originator of the BBB letter grading system, resigned as a result of an internal investigation conducted by the CBBB.[30][31] The resignation was rescinded shortly afterward, however, with Mitchell claiming that his health prompted him to resign, and criticizing the National Council for attempting to take over the Southern California chapter.[32]

Description: I have a dispute with BBB employee Andre Amaro and suddenly, the consumer BBB rating for Transport Connection gets changed from "A" to "NR". Desired Settlement: Transport Connection's rating should remain "A" rated as having a dispute with a BBB employee who happened to take it personally, should not result in the "A" rating changing to an "NR" (not rated) rating. Totally corrupt and unacceptable.

Andre Amaro: Hello again Mr. Avrich, Yvonne Betancourt provided a screenshot of a text message conversation with you. We feel the review is valid.

Bill Avrich: Then WHY does the review say “Alejandra B”? Why didn’t the individual file a complaint or provide their REAL name? I cannot find ANY "Alejandra B" or "Yvonne Betancourt" anywhere in my database.

Andre Amaro: Hello Mr. Avrich and Happy Saturday. The husband's name is Victor, he's who requested the quote. His wife wrote the review. She provided us with screenshots of text messages from you. BBB feels the review is valid and it will remain. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Bill Avrich: Please send me the screenshots that prove that the cell phone number used for the alleged text message thread is mine. I don’t give out my personal cellphone number unless it is to certain individuals. 561-982-1275 is the only phone number that customers get and that is a business landline not a cellphone number, so it is obvious that whatever text messages you were shown did not come from me. You need to remove the review immediately or legal action will be taken against the BBB as well unless you can PROVE that this screenshot exchange came from ME which it certainly appears not to have.

Your unprofessionalism never ceases to amaze me. You don’t know my cellphone number, you have provided me with names that do not exist in my quote and order database, you probably have never heard of “spoofed” (falsified) phone numbers and it is obvious that someone here is trying to make it appear as though I have sent them a text message or messages and there was a thread exchange. Send it to me so that I can have my attorney see what you are doing here.

Show me the cellphone number that you are purporting to be mine. Once again, if the number is 561-982-1275 then that is a LANDLINE phone number and you CANNOT send text messages via landline! Unbelievable how you allow and even facilitate slanderous comments to be posted from anonymous and unsubstantiated individuals pretending to be customers, and then you wonder why small businesses detest the BBB.

Andre Amaro NEVER replied with the proof that I requested which proves my point...that the BBB of South Florida and the Caribbean is a fraudulent extortion-based sham organization designed for the purposes of controlling and manipulating the business practices of small businesses like mine so as to profit off of the increased internet traffic generated whenever anyone Googles that small businesses's name (it will automatically pull up any related BBB links to that business).

Andre Amaro should be ashamed of himself and I have just exposed him and his organization as the frauds that they both are!
