Complaint Review: all tune and lube - midlothian Virginia

Our car was overheating so we took it to what we thought were professionals, unfortunately 3months and $5000 later we found out they were anything but professionals. At first they told us it was they radiator after a couple weeks they called and told us it was fixed and ready to pick up when we got there we took it for a test drive and it seemed fixed we paid them in full and went home which was only 7mins away later that day I left for work which is only 15mins away and I only made it half way there before it overheated on me again. Called All Tune and Lube and they told us to bring it back.

After returning the car to them another couple weeks pass and they called and told us it was ready and the problem had been the radiator they put in was to small. When we arrive to pick it up we are presented with another bill for this 2nd radiator. I was unhappy about it because it had been there mistake but paid it anyways just happy to have my car back. Leave there shop this time heading home and only make 5mins before it starts overheating again. Turn around and start over. After another few weeks call and tell us it was the head gaskets and they had taken it on several test drives and didn't overheat at all.

We get there and a given another bill which we pay leave for home again and again it over heats. Get it back to the shop and they swear they test drove which I know was a lie because I didn't even get 5miles away before it happens again. After returning the car to them and going through this same process several more times with them telling us it's everything from the water pump to the thermostat to the Noc sensors every time we picked it up it over heated before we could get home. At this point they had our car 3 months and we had paid them $5000 and nothing was fixed and I was getting angry.

This is when the owner/manager Barry told me to take it to another shop they were affiliated with. This suggestion was the one thing he ever got right. This second shop actually new what they were talking about. They whole time the problem had been the head gaskets which All Tune and Lube had put on backwards then apparently never bothered to check and replaced everything around it which there had been nothing wrong with just to charge us in full for there incompetence.

So the second shop has our car for about a week tells us about the head gaskets being backwards and how after the first of last year he will no longer be affiliated with All Tune and Lube because our car was not the first of there mistakes he had to fix. We went back to All Tune And Lube to try to get a refund on a portion of the bill because it was all there mistake and we were told No. Also another thing we found out from the second shop was they had damaged and broken clips and wires and sensors that the second shop and to fix.

The second shop never charged us for anything. Now today less than a year later our car is back in the shop for the radiator, we are still using the second shop and have complete faith in him. But apparently the radiator that we paid twice for is leaking from the seams. It is under warranty which the second shop is honoring but we will be charged for the labor. So we contact All Tune and Lube because we were hoping he would give us a refund but he refused and told us we could bring the car back to him, which we refused because of there lack of customer service and lack of knowledge. I would never refer anyone to them and never allow them to work on our car again because of all the damage the caused the first time that we paid for. I do not believe this company should be allowed to have a business license.
