Complaint Review: Advance Marketing Group - Cambridge Illinois

Obviously you don't know how to do a basic google search.  All you had to was type in mailing brochures scam and hundreds of sites pop up, including ones from the FTC and United States Postal, warning people this a scam. 

Looks like I really pushed your buttons.  My response to you wasn't "high and mighty".  I was trying to HELP YOU by telling you that you need to educate yourself before you fall victims to these ridiculous scams. 

It doesn't matter if you didn't know this website existed; a 10 second google search would have shown you hundreds and hundreds of other sites warning about this scam.  And again, there's common sense, which didn't prevail in your case. 

As to why I am on this site, I am on this site because I have been an active particpant and great fan of this site practically since it's inception (slightly over 20 years ago).  I have responded to literally thousands of complaints on here, sometimes in attempt to offer advice or opinions sometimes to chastise scammers.  I use this site to keep myself abreast of the latest scams that are going around.  I use this site to educate myself! 

I hope that clarifies things for you and that you will be smarter in the future.

 Well i see that you are wanting just to argue about this subject and make yourself look far more superior to others. I didn't even know this websight existed until i had a friend tell me about it after the fact. So since your so "intelligent" and would never lower your high and mighty self to getting ripped off by someone in this world, why are you hanging around on this website?

Maybe you get off on reading about us ignorant people that allow ourselves to be taken by con artist. Or maybe you are a con person and reading about all these people being taken for money brings you some excitement. Yes, i made a mistake in my life, trusted an ad in the newspaper to be true and was taken for some money. Sorry we are not all as intelligent as you think you are.

 I did as much research as i could on mailmembers which was the web sight in the ad. When i looked them up there we testimonies from people who said the company was for real and after 2 weeks they were making good money. I did not get the name Advance Marketing Group until after they took the money from my account.

It seems they have been doing this for years to honest people looking for a break in this world, so the question is why are they still getting away with it? I am disabled with PPMS, confined to my house on a limited income just trying to pick up some extra money because i cant work out in the real world. Im not computer savvy as we didnt have them in school when i was young like they do now or i would of probably researched more extensively. So as far as your comment on educating myself before acting, i did as much as i knew to do.

No one is going to pay someone 1k a week (or any amount) to stuff envelopes / mail brochures. That doesn't even make any sense. If it were true, we would all be doing it. This scam pre-dates the internet, it started during the Great Depression. Envelope stuffing / mailing is an automated system. Machines that can be purchased for hundreds of dollars fold, stuff, address and add the postage in place of humans, spitting out thousands of envelopes per hour. You could have easily done some research here before throwing $24.00 out the window
