a SCAAMco employee was in your driveway in the middle of the night.
You may have just needed some transmission fluid. Transmissions tend to "quit working" when they get low on fluid.

....you didn't fall for Aamco's typical "needs a new transmission" scam. Whatever you now have is historically more relaible than one of their "rebuilt transmissions", not to mention the money saved. Actually there's also a good chance they would've repared the leaking cooler lines, cleaned things up and declared "we replaced your transmission".
Aamco is entirely dependant on private retail business brought in by their extensive advertising. New and used car dealers needing transmission service would NEVER consider Aamco. Their reputation preceds them.
