While making the hugest error of our lives by getting a mortgage through Fleet Bank, Margaret Laorenza of Fleet Bank, made it nearly impossible to complete the process. Margaret was the one who kept saying she needed "proof of the source of downpayment", "proof of employment", "proof of homeowners insurance" no problem we thought,so we would fax it to her. And then-guess what? She never got it!!!!!

Even though we had the original fax transmittles showing that she had indeed gotten them-but she would say "I never got it" We sent a total of 72, yes, 72 faxes to this worthless loser. The same information over and over. We began the mortgage process in June. It was not closed till November. Every time we were ready to say "forget it, lets go to another bank" they would say "oh, this is the last thing you need to send us", yeah, right.

They lied to us and told us we would not be paying Private mortgage Insurance. Day of closing: phone rings 1 hour before scheduled closing-"you have to pay PMI plus a premium." Margaret Laorenza, and the rest of Fleet Bank should be sued. Fleet Bank was recognized as the bank frequented most by the Al-Quaida, so that should be enough right there to shut this corrupt institution down!

Not only did they violate FHA policy(since that is the loan they shoved us into-even though we put down 26% as a downpayment) by not giving us a comparison to a conventional loan and then lying to us by saying the PMI would come off at closing, they dug through our past trying to find anything they could to disqualify us for our home loan, but they happily set up accounts for terrorists. BoyCott Fleet Bank!

Fleet Has A Horrible Record of Ripoffs!!

Fleet was sued several years ago and had to pay out millions in the settlement. Sounds like they are up to some of their old tricks and predatory tactics. I will assume you have all of your records for everything that happened during this process. I would contact an attorney and find out if it wouold be in your best interest to go after these scumbags. Generally speaking, PMI is usually required on loans of more than 80% of the property value. Your 26% down payment puts you well below this requirement. Additionally, I would file complaints with the FTC (www.ftc.com) and the FDIC. Something is very wrong with this picture and needs to be rectified. Don't waste
