This is a warning to people who utilize the MBE/UPS stores. I recently had an occasion to visit the store in Clinton, MD, and here is a copy of my complaint which was sent to MBE/UPS stores, which they were so kind to respond, however, everyone should note, these stores are

independently owned, and the owners can and will charge you inappropriately.

Subject: Store #4408

Dear Sir/Madam:

I just wanted you to know about the questionable procedures of the UPS Store - #4408. I needed to mail a CPU, as well as drop off two packages, already pre-paid through the use of PayPal. The Manager of the store advised me, my packages would not arrive, unless I let them repackage the two pre-paid items, which were already in boxes, and wrapped in brown paper. He stated, unless we repackage these two packages, there is no guarantee them will arrive.

Since these were gift items, I agreed, however, I feel it is unfair to have paid over $12 to ship by Pay Pal, and then to be charged $11.15 for two boxes, plus $4.50 for a packaging service. Normally, when I drop off pre-paid items at Staples, they were shipped and arrive with no problem. One of the pre-paid items, once placed in another box, changed the weight from 5 pounds to 8 pounds, and therefore, I am going to be additionally charged for the extra weight.

People should not have to feel intimidated, and told unless they let the store repackage their items, they will not arrive. It made me feel as if, unless you let them charge you additional money, they would see to

it your packages were conveniently lost.

This was my first and last time using the UPS store. I will take my business to Staples in the future.
