Gateway Computers - MPC Computers Service & Tech Supoort Non-Existent! Irvine California
Bought Gateway Laptop in October, 2007 with double extended warranty and service contracts - total investment of $1,700.00. Learned shortly hterafter that Gateway had sold its service business to MPC Computers, which went broke this year. The sale took place in Octobrt, 2007! So, Gateway sold the service contracts and didn't tell buyers of that.
Now, after having sent off laptop to MPC for repair in their supplied shipping box, I can not get a hold of anyone - ANYONE - with either MPC or Gateway who can help locate the laptop that was mailed to theri service address in Tennessee!
Yet, Gateway shareholders seems to be doing fine; Acer Computers bought the company and now comprises the third largest mfr in the world. I guess my $1700 was part of their internal rip-off bailout.
