Here is an exchange that I had with Knight's Inn -- one of several budget motel chains along the highways.

They seem to be slumlords in denial. I cancelled my Florida and Virginia reservations with these folks after I got these strange canned responses to my email inquiries to their central offices.

I read about other Knight's Inn horror stories and my son said they have a bad reputation.

That's enough for me.

I don't think that this Bryan, that I had the email exchange with, was really prepared for these kind of questions. A proper response to my email might have required thought and some ability to converse in a pragmatic way. Were we both in the same conversation? Were we both looking at the same customer complaints?

Making compliments about Knight's Inn seemed to compound the problem for me.

You seem like an amiable fellow,

That second response was rather canned-sounding. I travel thousands of miles per year. I read traveler opinions quite a bit. This set of opinions for a single hotel in a single location, are so uniformly negative that it really caught my attention.

I hope it caught yours too.

This inquiry is not about a single guest's opinion. Did you roll down through the multiple opinions of formers guests? They all complain of the same thing on Trip Advisor.

If the guests are telling the truth, does Knight's Inn want to be represented by such a place, run in such a way, so close to such a major attraction? There must be a way to handle so many complaints internally.

I am saying that there are waaaay to many complaints.

Management could run with this opportunity.If none of the allegations are true, how much damage are they doing to the bottom line of Knight's Inn?
