I bought a Gateway laptop in October 2006. By February, 2007, I had to send it for repair. My gateway has been in for repair three times in less than one year for the same problem. I have been pleaded with gateway to either give me a refund or another system but they refused. I even asked them to extend the warranty for an additional year as a measure of good faith but again they refused (they do not even have faith in their own products).
I currently have my system but I afraid to carry it anywhere or use it too much for the fear of the same problem occurring again. Personally, I would not advise anyone purchase a Gateway system. They are cheap systems but essentially you get what you pay for.
