I trusted this dentist, spent thousands of dollars, and now I feel like a complete and total idiot!!!! I first went to this office in 2004 for a routine cleaning and checkup. The dentist went on to tell me I needed crowns on many teeth, and several root canals. The office encouraged me to sign up for care credit to finance the work. The amount came to over $7,000.

I agreed, believing him when he said get everything fixed right, and after this I will be "done." He also guaranteed the crowns for life which seemed like an good deal. Unfortunately, I have never been "done." I just financed an additional $4000 for me and my family to get MORE work done this year.

I went in June, 2007 for what is supposed to be my last appointment, he "finds" another problem, this time with my four piece bridge. Says it's failing and he will need at least $4,000 more to fix it. It might be more, he says because he is not sure if he can save the teeth underneath it. He then goes on to push the sale of implants instead of a bridge.

At $3500 per implant, with 4 teeth to implant, I am COMPLETELY overwhelmed at this point. There is just no end in sight with this guy. When I tell him my concerns about the cost he says there are worse problems I could have, and at least I am not dying of cancer!

No, I'M JUST GOING BROKE! Now I go and get a second opinion. Two seperate dentists tell me the bridge CAN be patched, it does not need to be removed, and it only costs me $150. I always thought if someone had a medical degree, you could trust what they said to be true.

I never dreamed a dentist could actually be this dishonest or unethical!! All I can do now is to warn everyone else STAY AWAY FROM UNICARE DENTAL! They are only interested in your wallet! If you ever get this kind of treatment from any medical professional, get another opinion!!

It's obvious the only goodcomments herewere posted by Dr. Noie and his staff. This is to try to counteract all the claims made by all his unhappy customers.

In your rebuttals to me Dr. Noie you mentioned not once but twice that if my claims were valid, HUNDREDS of lawyers would line up to take my case. The facts are solid.

Your work was lousy and in most cases, unnecessary.

EVERY crown you put in my mouth since 2004 had to be replaced within 2-5 years. I have the documentation.BTW I enjoyed reading the posts made by your "jilted" lover.

I couldn't help but notice all the lavish vacations and trips she said you two took together.

How many people besides me did you take advantage of to afford this?

Oh, never mind, I've read the other posts too.

Blame me all you want.

If your work was so necessary and such quality, why did everything have to be replaced in such a short time?

Why did several of thehealthy teeth thatyou said needed crowns dieand decay under these "quality" crowns?

Stay away from this guy folks, he is all greed.

Dr. Noie, you know EXACTLY who I am.    You know you ripped me off and if I had continued coming to you for treatment, I would be broke and toothless.   Fortunately, I found a reputable dentist and periodiodontist who have spent the last two years correcting your poor quality and mostly unnecessary work.   Four of the crowns that you said I needed lasted between 2-4 years before the teeth died, became infected, and required root canals and new crowns.   Interesting that you insisted these teeth HAD to have crowns.   There was still plenty of tooth structure, have you ever heard of inlays?   Of course inlays are much cheaper than those terrible crowns, and I could have avoided a lot of pain and expense.   I not only have x-rays, and the paperwork before and after I became your patient, I have photos of my smile taken just before and after all the extensive work YOU did.   My smile was hideous.   You placed cheap, poor quality crowns that didn't match the color of the rest of my teeth.   You filed healthy teeth down to stubs, all so you could charge me thousands of dollars a year.   I trusted you and I trusted you with my family.   Fortunately you and your staff turned very greedy and we got away before you could do more damage to them.  You see all this work has educated me more than I expected.    I am getting attorney advice to see what if any action can be taken.   I'm thankful I got away from you in time, however you have no ethics or morals.   You had no business taking advantage of a beautiful, intelligent, hard working woman.   I am a teacher and looking and acting professional is very important to me.    You knew this and you took advantage of it.   I still feel violated.  You have no right to be in business.   If you don't get punished one day in this life, there is no doubt god has a special place for you when you die.  You will answer for this one way or another!  In the meantime I will continue to warn people of you so no one else has to endure what I did.

I had a similar situation with the same guy. I went for a check up with this guy after my previous dentist moved. When I left my previous dentist my teeth were fine. And at the time of the check up with this guy I was told my teeth were fine except for a "burr" on a filling that the doctor removed with one of his files. Six months later when I went back for my next check up and that same tooth now needed a root canal and a crown. During that work he "noticed" that I had two small cavities and then the work began on BOTH sides of my mouth. That turned in to multiple root canals and multiple crowns. It seems like every time I visited this guy he "found" something that needed work. I can't prove it but it seems like he was damaging something at the same time he was ''fixing" something else. And to add insult to injury a few months later I saw an article in a local magazine that spotlighted this doctor as a great local professional. While he may be a great family man, I have serious doubts about his professionalism. I wasn't planning on saying anything. I had planned to go on with my life and write this off as a "lesson learned", until I read his rebuttal. Also, he says that his price for an implant is $1350 and the price "has been the same for years". But that doesn't include the cost of the crown and the other work that must be completed unless you want to chew on a screw for the rest of your life. In my opinion this guy cares more about his boat payment than he does is patient's care, comfort or budget.

This is interesting. I went to this guy for a "checkup" after my previous dentist moved. At the first check up my teeth looked "fine" except for a "small burr on a filling." The doctor "removed the burr" with his drill and I was told my teeth were in great shape. Six months later when I went back for my next check up, all of a sudden the filling that had the "burr" now needs to be a root canal with a crown. As that process is being completed the doctor "found" a tooth next to it that also needed work. Then the work began on both sides of my mouth. "Fixing two small cavities" one on each side. Within six months after that I "needed" a root canal on a neighboring tooth. I can't prove it but I felt like this guy was damaging a tooth in the same area where he was fixing something else. I went to another dentist and was told that I didn't need all that expensive work. I also notice from the Dr.'s rebuttal that he quotes a price of $1350 for his implants and "that price has been the same for years". What he doesn't mention is that the $1350 only covers the post in the bone. It doesn't cover the crown or the follow up work that must be completed. His insinuation is the TOTAL cost is $1350, that is obviously not true unless you want to chew on a screw for the rest of your life. I hadn't planned on saying anything. I was content to go on with my life and let this be a "lesson learned". But to add insult to injury, a few months ago I saw an article in a local area magazine spotlighting the doctor as a wonderful and caring professional and family man. I'm sure he is a great family man, but I have a difference of opinion on his professionalism. And telling someone they did a lousy job on your teeth and then allowing them to go back and do more damage is stupid. His rebuttal is not only defensive it reflects an insensitivity to the concerns of his patients. For a long time I thought I just had a bad experience and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. But when I saw his rebuttal and the tone he projects I realized that I was not the only one. In my personal opinion (welcome to a free country) this guy only cares about whether you make payments on time or how much credit you can qualify for. In my opinion this guy cares more about his boat payment than his patients comfort, care or budget.

A patient has a right to say "hey I do think this is STEEP and is priced to high". I have had 45 surgeries, so I know much more than the average patient on how things get billed medically. You would not believe how we get overcharged on the average bill that people do not catch.Dentists seem to be on the average much worse on over billing than other types of doctors. So yes, it is a free country and just like you have a right to voice your opinion, so does the OP ! And no I do not know her, but she has a right to voice her concerns too.

Last time I checked this country was still a free country. No one can tell anyone where to go for treatment or how much to charge for services. It is not right to beat someone down just because we don't like their fees (or we like their prices today but dislike them next week). this consumer did not have anything to say about the quality of Dr. Noie's work. She just did not like his opinion. We in this country don't harm people for expressing their opinion whether we agree with them or not. With all the laws and rules that we have in this great country of ours, if you have any case at all, you can and will get justice the right way. If you had unnecessary work done or diagnosed, I am sure hundreds of lawyers would have lined up to take Dr. noie to court. If you elect to just tarnish someone's reputation without a case then you are not mature enough to take responsibility for your actions and simply blame others for everything bad that has ever happened to you. Sounds familiar? Dr. Noie is wonderful. He is a perfectionist and stands behind his work all the way. I have been his patient for over 5 years and have had several dental work done. He has never hurt me, not even when he gives me a shot. I have had my share of bad dentistry but Dr. Noie changed all that. People like to complaint when they have been wronged. It is only fair to compliment someone that has done good by you. Right now, when I have an appointment at Dr. Noie's office, Unicare, I have absolutely no worries and that is quit a change for me. I love Dr. Noie. He has restored my faith on dental field. Even though I have moved from Clear Lake area, I still drive about 40 miles to see Dr. Noie. That is how much I trust him. I feel fortunate to have found him. I love my smile and my dentist. :-)

#12REBUTTAL Individual responds

Sat, July 05, 2008

I am at a disadvantage here since I don't know who my accuser is. I usually see over 2000 patients in a single year. Even if I could guess who you are (which I don't) I would not reveal your identity without your consent. If you elect to identify yourself and give me permission, I will gladly retrieve and post your records on this site along with my clinical judgments. This way all those people you were trying to reach and warn can judge for themselves, having all the facts not just your side of the story. If you choose to remain anonymous, then I will only be able to respond to a hypothetical scenario. So let's recap your alleged story. You supposedly came to my office in 2003 because I assume you were in pain. I again, allegedly diagnosed some root canals and other work and even told you that I am confident enough about my workmanship that I am willing to guaranteed my work for life. You reviewed the proposed treatment and approved it and I performed the work. Over the next four years (until 2007) you did not have any problems or complaint because there was no mention of you being unhappy with the treatment you received from me. Besides you must have been very satisfied with my work since you came back to see me again when you were in pain years later. So far I don't detect any rip off. In 2007 you supposedly were hurting again. You came to see me about the pain. You mentioned the new problem was with a 4 unit bridge that you have had done in the past. I am assuming the work was done by someone else because you did not mention getting any bridge from me. A four unit bridge suggests to me that you had two teeth missing next to each other and another dentist connect the four teeth together using the neighboring two teeth as posts. In such scenario the post teeth receive much more force than they were designed to tolerate. When two post teeth get overloaded for a long time they begin to fatigue and first become sensitive and eventually become loose and will be lost. Every dentist is familiar with such biomechanical fact and for that reason very few of us prefers to place long fixed bridges. In such instance, one can postponed the obvious by shaving the teeth down slightly so they will not be in full contact when we bite. That technique however simply shift the problem to the opposite side and sooner or later the teeth on the opposing side start getting sensitive to cold and biting. Apparently, I suggested removing the bridge and replacing the missing teeth with dental Implants and placing a simple crown over the post teeth. She did not like my diagnosis and throw the messenger under the bus. As for the price; in our office Dental Implants costs $1325 each. This fee has been the same for over 7 years. As for the cancer comment; I don't understand the nature of complaint. Telling someone that having a health issue that has very predictable success ratio is better than having a health issue that does not have predictable outcome does not sound so wrong. After all we all have been taught to focus on our blessings when in crisis. In conclusion; Ms. Sarah's main complaint was about her not agreeing with my diagnosis. I am sorry that she did not. It does not seem fair for her or anyone else to smear one's character just because she didn't agree with his/her opinion. Sincerely Farid Noie DDS, FICIO, FAGD, AFAAID
