Ca has laws in regards to giftcards. Best thing to do is get it back and make them redeem it. Contact the authorities to show them the stores breaking CA law. Also, you may file in small claims court in California for a small fee. The electronic filing in ca is (( link removed by ROR)) Its known Comp USA is closing many of its stores though I havent heard claims of bankruptsy as of yet, and also known many stores are breaking state laws which main office as usual are turning their head to becasue they believe that by the time any ligitation comes the stores way, the stores in those states will be long closed. Right now you have a chance to not only file in small claims, but becasue Comp USA has broken CA law, the judge might even allow you to claim the fees as well.

CompUSA has advertising on internet that is for purchasing gift cards. Clearly stating redeemable at ANY store. It states not good on internet, but fails to advise you that ALL STORES CLOSING and not redeemable at those stores. How many people will lose the money and CompUSA keeps it knowing they will not be redeemed.
