Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Our group of 6 arrived to Knotts scary farm around 7:30 pm. We entered quickly and headed straight to the rollercoaster boomerang. We then heade to our first maze the grudge two.

The line was pretty long so me, my cousin and my boyfriend got out of the line to use the bathroom, while the rest of our group stayed in line. When we returned from the bathroom we got back in the line.

As soon as we got back in the line security approached us. They assumed we were cutting in line and asked to get out the line. We explained to them that we were already in line and that we had just went to the bathroom, we even told them to ask the people behind us, but they refused.

We didn't want to argue so my boyfriend and I got out of the line and explained to them that we didn't know we weren't allowed to do that. We were going to meet our group at the exit of the maze when one of the five securitys got in my boyfriend's face. He was telling him things like,"what you gonna do, huh tough guy" and "What you gonna do something about it."

My boyrfriend had not done anything for them to approach him this way so I told the security to back off that we already got out the line and we were going to leave to meet our group. The security told us it was too late and that we had to leave the park.

As we walked to the entrance of the park they followed behind us. The whole way they were harrassing my boyfriend. They were telling him things that were provoking him to get mad and respond in violence, but he didnt.

Another security approached us and asked what happened. My boyfriend explained to him what happened and how we listened and got out the line. The security then asked him if he had touched any of the security guards, and my boyfriend said no. He then asked the securitys if my boyfriend had touched any of them and they said no, but they he had gotten in their faces wanting to fight them. I then tried to explain that the securitys had gotten in my boyfriends face for no reason first but he refused to listen and told us to leave.

So we continued to walk towards the netrance where we met up with another security. This security then asked my boyfriend for his i.d and asked us to follow him. We followed him to the entrance, where he stopped to talk to us. The five security guards we're still there and we're still saying things to my boyfriend, so I asked the security guard to ask them to leave because they were making things worse. But instead he told me to shut up and that he wasn't talking to me.

This got my boyfriend mad and my boyfriend told the security guard to not disrespect me like that. After he told them this they began to get in his face again. I held my boyfriend back telling him it wasn';t worth it that they we're trying to make him do something that way they can arrest me. Then a security grabbed me from the arm and began to push me. I turned to him and told him not to touch me, that we have not done nothing wrong. They then threatned to arrest my boyfriend.

We finally left the park. Having no ride we walked to the nearest McDonalds. The rest of our party having no idea what happened called to see where we were at. I quickly explained to them what happened. So they then went to the office to file a complaint. There they were given attitude and accused of lying.

Finally, the security told the rest of our party that when my boyfriend got out of the line he tried to throw the poles that are attached with rope, that are by the lines, at the security. This was obviously a lie. Because if that would have happened then we wouldn't have just been escorted out of the park, my boyfriend would have been arrested at the spot, if he would've done that.

So I'm filing this complaint because my boyfriend and I feel discriminated against. We spent $45.00 to have a good time..and we didn't expect to find ourselves with this sort of rudeness and rascism. All we are asking for is our money back.

Joe, you sound like someone who is looking to make a buck by suing them! You and I both know her information was WAY too vague and there was no where in her story that mentions "Racism." However you feel the need to fuel her issues by insisting she contact a lawyer and sue Knotts Berry Farm for their "Alleged" abuses towards this patron.

I don't know what ethnic group you were but you need to find the organization that represents your racial or ethnic group and contact them and you need to contact an attorney that specializes in human rights abuses or civil rights to see what your recourses are. You also have damages from Knots Berry Farm, the security company that hired these people and everyone associated with them if your attorney thinks he or she has enough to work with.

For the record "Private Security", Knotts Berry Farm nor any other company in the state of California is required to have its security licensed through the state if they are employed as employees of that company because they are deemed "In House Employees". Only contracted Security such as Wackenhut, IPC, or other type security firms are required because they're contracting services out.

In all fairness, Knotts Berry Farm isn't here to defend itself, nor is the Security Officers you accuse of wrong doing, not to mention alleged racism. I worked at Knotts Berry Farm back in the late 90's as a Security Officer and I agree that there were some "billy bad a*s" wanna be Security guys, however I never once saw any racist expressions or officers. Infact, Knotts Security was quite diverse. I would say that your complaint is likely VERY one sided as you claim to have done nothing wrong, said nothing wrong and were total victims. I here that every day now working inside a jail. Always it was the other persons fault or that of the security of Police. Rarely do I ever here someone say they were the instigator or the agressor. I feel after reading your rants that your boyfriend and you must have done something to provoke such a heated response as you claim you didn't. I am willing however to concede that the guards could have easily been over zealous in their approach. If you are going to attempt to put out you are totally innocent and were not at all doing anything wrong, then likely very little people will buy your story!

I've worked at Knotts Berry Farm for a good portion of my life. It was my first job & i've been here since i was 16. Im always around but my most current position is the area manager of one of the regions inside the theme park. I know the security guards think they are big & bad but i know all of them & i know they would never, ever do any thing that you stated. They actually are trained by real law enforcement officers in the area on top of other things.(First Aid & stuff like that) What was racist about what happened? People tend to think that because a security guard is white & they're another race then the white guy or gal is racist. The security guard simply did what they're supposed to do:throw out those who cut in line. Irregardless if you were in line then got out to pee. Haunt is the busiest time of year for Knotts. Do you know how many times they've heard that excuse? They have signs at EVERY maze/ride stating not to get in then get out of line to avoid this problem. People complain that there were people who cut in line. In my area, I get that complaint every single day at least 60 times a day. They all said I was in line but I had to use the bathroom then I got thrown out of the park. You probably did or say some thing to the security guard to have him throw you out because they don't just all gang up on guests & throw them out. I would think about what you put on line next time & not write stuff out of anger.

What was racist about it though?

Hi, From reading your post it seems from what you said, that security personnel over-reacted, were abusive or at least were over-zealous. It can happen, I've seen it for myself when I was doing security. (It wasn't for Knott's though.) But, what did security do or say that seemed racist? I didn't see anywhere in your post where you describe any action or verbal exchange by security personnel that would lead a reasonable and prudent person to think racism was a motivating factor in their dealings with your party or their decision to eject you and your friends from the park. Understanding that you were obviously upset, (and maybe rightfully so, but this is one side of the story) do you think you may be using the term racist out of frustration and anger and not because of some specific action on security's part? If you feel it was "racist" you should be able to articulate that in detail and describe why. Your post doesn't do that, but you claim it anyway. First, do some research on what racism is, then when cooler heads prevail, objectively evaluate the situation. It's hard to evaluate claims like this with any reasonable reliability without you backing it up. I imagine a person uses this site in an attempt to gain some accurate sense of how a company does business before they invest time, effort and money into it or before purchasing their products. Instead, they just hear how frustrated you were and get no real information on how this company was "racist" in their actions. I certainly would not give any company my hard earned money if I knew they employed people who were racist. If you could, please specify what they did or how they did it that makes them deserving of the term? That's a hard word to be throwing around and when it's used inaccurately, makes all other claims of racism a little less believable, sincere and truthful. Thanks
