I ordered a DX310X (low end gaming computer), Web Cam, NVidia 7300 w/64mb, Audagy Soundblaster 4, 2 hard drives (identical), 19" flat screen monitor, Mcafee security suite, M/S Office pro.

The first day I received my computer, and had problems. The 2 hard drives that I ordered (to be installed in the computer before it was delivered to me) came in seperate boxes, and I had to install it myself. The only problem, the 2nd hard drive came with NO cables, screws, and was not identical. I had to go out and by the hardware myself. It took Gateway techs over 2 months to figure out what was wrong just so the OS could recognize the 2nd hard drive. And it is still not working correctly.

MS office pro came with 3 C/D's. MS office, SP2, and the Business (contracts). When I installed all 3, my computer crashed. Called Gateway to get a fix and was told I had to call Microsoft. I called Microsoft and was told that there is a $50. flat fee for them to fix (only one problem) my computer. I called back to Gateway and was told that they do not fix third party software (and GATEWAY sold it to me).

I was also told by Gateway that they knew there was a software glitch ion the MS office pro, they sold it to me, and when I tried to get my money back, they said "TOUGH" "You opened the plastic on the C/D's and it's your". "NO refunds" But they knew there was a problem.

McAffe Security suite. See MS office pro. Same thing but with McAfee Security suite.

I am into my 3rd Monitor which keeps dying. Knowbody knows what is wrong.

I am into my 2nd Video card as well as my 2nd sound card (I get the BLUE screen of death)

AND to top it all off, I ordered the DX310X and I received a DX310S. There was a lot of typing errors on the Order list so I never noticed it. When I brought it to the attention of Gateway, I was told, "TOUGH... you had 15 days to return the computer and you did not so you keep it."

I was hung up on several times told I was a liar and a few other choice words.

Well GATEWAY, I will never but another one of your computers again, and I am warning all of my co-workers (pyrimad scheme), and there are 40,000 of us, not to buy a gateway, buy a DELL.
