In April or May of 2002 I bought a Gateway 2000 laptop model, VXT400 Plus. It had problems not more than two months into us getting it, first problem was the hard drive failed. Called Gateway, no problem they sent a new one and the problem was solved. Next problem, the sound card on the motherboard fried itself, so I sent it in for repairs, took almost a month to get it back, but it worked when I got it back. Now move ahead to November of that same year. Had to send it in for service again becasue the motherboard went bad on it, like completely bad. Took them close to two months to send it back. Sent it in in the beginning of November and didn't get it back til the end of December. And when we got it back it still had the same exact problem, so called Gateway 2000 and they said "Oh there was never mention of a bad motherboard". Yes there was as it was sitting in the notes that they took, so this time they sent a "replacement chasis". Took close to a month to get it this time. It lasted for just over a year, then it had to be replaced again due to a faulty dvd/cd-rw drive, so we got the replacement chasis again, and it came with a bad DVD/CD-RW drive. So finally wrote the Better Business Bureau, and we got a whole different replacement different model, everything. This laptop worked for about 8 months. Now it doesn't turn on, or anything, and Gateway isn't willing to honor my extended warranty that I paid for. I want my laptop fixed and I want it fixed for good. I still have over a year on my extended warranty.
