Ramada Inn, Ramada Inn Limited Of Corpus Christ, ripoff, consumer fraud Corpus Christi Texas
We reserved a room for four nights beginning on March21, through March 24,2006 for the USBC Bowling Tournament held in Corpus Christi this year.
We picked the Ramada Ltd. of Corpus because of the price,(69) per night, and the ammenities they offered. (ie free hot deluxe breakfast, and free shuttle service to and from the airport and bowling center.)
After the first of the year, we decided to drive. Thank goodness we did, as there was no shuttle.
After we got there, and paid for the four nights, we also found out there was no free hot deluxe breakfast. The rooms were nothing like the web site posted, and all "secured" entrances weren't.
Unfortunately, I paid cash, but honored my reservation anyway.
After check-in we discovered the remote control for the TV didn't work. Since my wife is disabled, this would have been nice to have. I went to the front desk, and was told they would get me one shortly. Two hours later, shortly still didn't arrive. I asked again, and, was told they were looking for batteries.
Finally, we had enough, and asked to talk to the owner. He was on the phone, and ignored us. After about 45 minutes, I asked for the corporate number, and, then he put down his phone, and asked what the problem was. We told him, and he assured us he would take care of it, if we didn't call corporate. We agreed.
The next day, we had to chase the maid down the hall for toilet paper.
This was an every day occurance. Then, on Friday, our last day there, we wanted to use the laundry facilities to wash a few clothes. Guess what? No working washer or dryer. Also, another ammenity.
Our TV "lost several" channels, and we told the front desk about it. We never got a response, and, I was told I would get a rebate for all the trouble we had.
Imagine, my "surprise" when the morning front desk clerk didn't know anything about our problems.
I called corporate, and got the runaround from them. They sent me a letter stating that the General Manager would get back to me in 7 business days. I called back, and was told I would get 69 dollars back, as corporate could only do that, as this particular motel is franchised.
I accepted the 69 dollars,(still haven't received the check), but told them this was unacceptable, as the Ramada Inn Ltd., of Corpus Christi is booked through July4 because of the tournament. I was told to take the 69 or leave it.
I told them I would NEVER stay at another Ramada Inn again, and, I will gladly tell all my contacts about my experience.
One thing you can say about Ramada. You can't complain about their customer service, because there is none.

I had a similar experience with the Ramada Inn in Chatsworth, California. The website said that there was a free breakfast buffet. I wasn't going to eat breakfast there anyway, but on my way out, the manager was hassling a young man for "stealing" two pieces of sausage off the buffet in the restaurant. The young man said that the website said free breafast buffet and he thought that was the free buffet. I stepped in and agreed with the young man -- that IS what the website said. I told the manager he could settle it right then -- just go to his own website and see what it says, but he wouldn't do it. I told the manager he was about ready to lose two customers over the price of two sausages. I will never stay at the Ramada Inn in Chatsworth again. However, we have had very good experiences with the Ramada Inn in Lebec, California (right at the north end of the Grapevine off of Interstate 5), and the Ramada Inn in Santa Nella, California. Very nice, reasonable price, good breakfast, beautiful pools, etc.
