Ticketmaster Excessive Fees Internet
I went to buy Monster Jam tickets off of Ticketmaster. The tickets alone were $15 adult and $10 per kid, my total would have been $35. Instead, I am charged a facility charge, service fee, and additional tax, new total $69.75! Then clicked to checkout and saw an additional $6.22 order processing fee for a grand total of $75.97!!
Here was the breakdown:
Adult ticket: $15.00
Facility Charge: $4.00
Service Fee: $7.10
Additional Tax: $0.59
Kids Ticket: $10.00 x2
Facility Charge: $4.00 x2
Service Fee: $6.95 x2
Additional tax: $0.58 x2
Subtotal: $69.75
Order processing fee:$6.22
Total: $75.97
Why am I being charged more in fees then the actually ticket?!?! There is no way I am paying that ridiculous amout in fees, and will be avoiding Ticketmaster. I am going staight to the box office and hopefully avoid all of this, but certain had to voice my shock and disgust about how greedy Ticketmaster has gotten and why they are allowed to inflate the price so much? It is just digusting!!

Yes there are a lot of fees but they are disclosed, and yes going directly to the venue would generally be cheaper. However, not all of those fees are "Ticketmaster" fees only and would be charged regardless.
Facility Charge - This is what the venue is charging, this fee would be added regardless of where you purchased it.
Any "Tax" would not be Ticketmaster, it would be a local Government tax that would be added regardless.
So expect to pay just around $50.
Now, a few other things. The fees you are posting seem very high for ticket master fees. So if these are "discounted" tickets may be the reason for the higher fee as it is based on the full price ticket. Also, you may not find this same discounted price at the venue. I speak of this from experience. I too avoid TM when ever possible. However, for one family event they had discounted tickets, for $15/seat. At the venue the seats were $60-$80 each. Needless to say I went back home, got them on-line and even after the fees still saved quite a bit of money over the box office.
