Too good to be true. When you see newspapers and magazines that advertise $400 Rebate from Compuserve when you sign up for their service for 36 months. This Rebate supposedly to pay for the EMachine computer you are buying. Wrong again. I bought a eMachine computer and filled out all the required paperworks to send to Compuserve for Rebate since July 1999, no Rebate has been received as of Feb 12, 2000.....6-1/2 month after all paperwork has sent in. Called Compuserve numerous time, the customer service reps were instructed only tell you limited info but no definite answers or status. They will football you around and asked you to send email to compuserve, compuserve emailed back with standard format, no one will assist you in seeking info about the Rebate paperwork they received over 6 months ago evidenced by signed return receipt. You know what, compuserve will ask you to resubmit these paperwork again and will have to wait another 6 - 8 weeks before you can hear anything. Compuserve is trying to pull your leg as long as they can. Don't know if others get their $400 check, I certainly haven't. If you don't believe, try it for yourself.
