My dentist's office and I have been going around and around for crown coverage performed on 12/29/14 in the amount of $1900! I have been a member for several years and UniCare consistently makes it difficult for my dentist's office to submit claims for service--they are told they haven't received the claim, x-rays, supporting documents, etc. My dentist's office has to resubmit the documents (and fax) several times for each claim. For the service of 12/29/14 UniCare is saying they are not providing coverage for "incomplete treatment." UniCare provided the name and telephone number of the consulting dentist who reviewed the claim/documents and said he could be contacted by my dentist. My dentist has called several times and the consulting dentist has not returned the calls. Now UniCare is requesting "post-op" x-rays to confirm the treatment was completed! Does UniCare really think I would settle for and go home with incomplete treatment? It is an insult and absurd for UniCare to insinuate that we are trying to rip them off--they don't provide all that much coverage to begin with to even bother trying to rip them off. Ever since UniCare no longer provides individual dental coverage (which I still have) they have been increasingly difficult to deal with--are they doing this on purpose so I will drop them? I do not recommend UniCare dental coverage.
