ATTENTION ALL FORD EMPLOYEES:

If you are an employee of Ford Motor Company and ever been on medical leave, are on medical leave or are now disabled and had to deal with the incompetence of Unicare Insurance and Ford Motor Company headquearters is unresponsive to your concerns please start screaming and help myself and other employee's with a suit against Unicare.

I believe Unicare is in violation of federal ERISA laws and doesn't play fair with Ford's employees and makes it a habit of not informing employees in a timely and courteous manner with regard to information needs for continuation of medical claims.

National Employee Service center reps have advised me personally on many occassions of the complaints they receive daily about the conduct and incompetence of Unicare Insurance and it's representatives and informed me Ford has cancelled 3 of it's 5 contracts with Unicare for this reason.

Representatives are incompetent and although there may be physicians overseeing things, RN's who are not licensed physicians, other claim reps, and supervisors are playing God with peoples lives, claiming to not receive and/or lose claim forms, causing undue stress for Ford employees whose payment of this insurance comes out of OUR wages pays their salaries!!!

Rather than play fair according to ERISA laws and look for ways to PAY claims as they should, they prefer to look for ways to NOT pay our claims. In my case personally, I was never notified that another claim rep had been assigned to my claim. Supervisors and other reps have refused to give the full name of new claims reps, failed to provide or request further information in a reasonable and timely manner and are deceptive in their conversations and request for information from my physician(s). Requested information from my physician(s) without letting me know or providing a signed release from me in violation of privacy laws, requested an IME from a physician who is a partner of my attending physician to attempt to get information after stating the forms they faxed were NOT a rating request when they were which is not only a conflict of interest but, I consider it to be unethical. Representatives are rude and disrespectful and have on at least one occassion, called the information they requested of me and my physicians, CRAP! Literally that is what the examining RN called it, verbatim...CRAP!!! I had to go to the head of that facility or department to complain but they still treat me like dirt! Personally, I have been as honest as I know how to be and provided them with and co-operated with every request asked of me. Even my a member of my churches staff has now had opportunity to see how I have been treated when they had to step in and assist me and a 3-way conversation was attempted by them with me on the line after my disabilty check was stolen from my mailbox.

Some employees, after returning to work, are being threatened with termination for supposed failure to provide claim information to Unicare when they have proof to the contrary, are almost always told they have been overpaid and coerced into repaying these monies and accused of NOT being a team player for rocking the boat when they file an appeal to such notices. Some of these same employees are being held in supervisors or HR offices until they compiled a letter to be added to their employee files recanting their appeals in order to keep their jobs.

I cannot say if the home offices of Ford Motor Company are completely aware of these practices in their entirety but I fail to see how they could not be with all the complaints they get in light of the other simple fact that they record conversations "for quality assurance purposes". Nor am I completely convinced they are not aware of how employees are being treated by Unicare and in some cases facility supervisors. It is a true fact that Ford has been through many a lawsuit recently that has had a negative impact on the company and it's profitabilty. Wall street analysts have on at least one occassion, downgraded their rating, which causes them to pay higher interest rates and other things.

I loved my job and my co-workers at my facility until I had to deal with Unicare and all these other issues. The stress of all this has complicated and compromised my medical condition to the point where I now have ailments I never had which threaten my well-being. Unicare had 5-6 weeks to notify me they needed more information to continue my claim but never said anything to me until I called when I didn't receive my check and twice since they received my claim I have been given eviction notices and had to seek alternate forms of rental and other assistance to keep a roof over my head, utilities on and food on my table.

If you are an employee who has ever been on medical leave for an extended time and had to deal with Unicare and it's reps, back to work or still on leave or are now permanently disabled, please join me and other co-workers in our attempt to file a suit against them and maybe together we can get Ford to stop ignoring our concerns. Even if you quit your job with Ford to go somewhere else, if the stress of Unicare was the reason you left, stand up and be counted. Together we can and together we will make a difference for us all. Exercise your free speech! Get yourself heard - start screaming!!!!!!Dont keep quiet anymore! We deserve to be treated fairly and with respect and in a reasonable and timely manner.

Henry Ford was a good man, who founded Ford Motor Company on good moral values and whose motto at one time was "Help the Other Guy". It would only take one time for Bill Ford or someone else in upper management to experience what I and some of my fellow workers deal with when Unicare manages our medical claims for something to be done.

Spread the word even if you don't work for Ford, maybe you know someone who does and has gone through the same thing. We need your help. Thanks!

I am sure there are many others that have gone through the same exp. I myself went through it and was given a choice to get fired or resign. I know another person who is still employed through ford and is out on disability due to exstreme stress and is going through what we have now and is actually making her condition worse. Her and I would be happy to be a part of this lawsuit. Please contact me with the information we need to sign on. Hopefully more will stand up!

Donna sounds like you might like the following contact info. Might help you make sure the big boys at Ford know your troubles. Not that they will do anything. Still nice to know that you have a direct pipe line to them. Use the below contact info to your advantage. Ask them all that you email why is it that none of the below contact info is posted on any Ford Motor Corp web sites. Sure seems to me that they do NOT want to hear from the fine folks that buy what they build. What's up with that?
