I rec'd 3 certificates from the Emachines class action suit on the 17 July.  Tried for a week to be able to put a computer into "my Cart". Finally did succeed today, gaave all my info, as ordering, got the credit applied to my balance due, There was $44.99 Due plus shipping and taxes. put in my credit card as requested and shipping and billing info. Clicked continued, but, was unable to go any further, tried again from start, clicked and did all as above a 2nd time, same thing.  Now I wonder if my card will be billed for 1 or 2 computers, without my $365 credit on one..  The toll free phone # is just a recording, repeating the same thing I read on the "if you have any questions" or FAQ site, and  no answer to my delimna.

I willbe very disappointed if this turns out to be a scam.. I bought 3 E Machines in the past, and have in my possession 3 certificates.  plus, I am given a certain period of time to redeem them...any advice on what to do?

yes it is a freebie, unless you order one above the amount you were sent.  as I said, I paid the extra amount $44..and for my $44 I was shipped the same broken monitor and computer 3 times.. the 4th time I was allowed to pick a different one and after complaining about sending me broken equipment 3 previous times I finally got one not damaged. Are you trying to tell me I should be "giving them $44" just because? I happen to know it was the same computer because I had taken photos of it and could compare the broken glass lines..also with the UPS delivery man comparing the monitor with my photos .

well  after the company found out that I had UPS drivers witness how poorly packed the merchandise was, and notified them of my refusal to accept anything from them in less than good working condition, they finally sent me another PC.  It is not the same as I ordered, they said the had no more of that kind. But windows 7 is good for me. and no cracked monitor.  I know there is at least one other customer complaint on this site, who had the same horror story as myself.  I hope that person finally got satisfaction.  Thanks for letting me vent and finally getting satisfaction of receiving my merchandise in working order and it was better packed .

Sept 30 2013 I received , after 2 returned deck top computers, a 3rd poorly packed and damaged monitor. It was returned imediately as the UPS driver witnessed me opening it.  I refused the shipment it is being returned to the warehouse in TX from where it was sent.

I  phones warranty support.  by now I have a folder at least an inch thick of emails and notes of phone calls.  They are very familiar with my order. Apologies ,and sending out another unit 2 day express UPS.  I request for more and better packing.

We shall see.  mean time they have my money, I still have no useable computer.  yes, it is refurbished, but refurbished means restored to good as new, not cracked and brocken with missing parts...

more than likely , to be continued. by the way I am not the only emachinesrdeem.com customer that has received damaged computers, and more than once on the same product.  See Emachines send out damaged merchandise over and over, and over again.   scam or ripoff?

I finally received my Acer 23" all in one on August 2013. It had a damaged and obviously cracked monitor and the only packing was styofoam on the edges of the monitor. a heavy metal piece, the keyboard (without the wireless USB) the wireless mouse (with the USB) and the power cord were all loose inside the box.

I called warrantee support, they wanted pictures of the condition of the box and the packing before they would okay a return UPS shipping label, which I had to print from an attachment. I then returned the package . 12 days later I received the replacement computer.  Sadly, the box had more damage to the outside, and the monitor was cracked even more.  It was the same computer with the same serial # and ID #.

Once again I went through the same routine and sent photos of the lack of proper packaging and the computer.  more emails transpired between us, and they asked for photos of the box.  I told them according to tracking online, they had possession of the box signed for not even hrs before they sent the email. they told me they would submit a claim to UPS for the damaged computer and a computer exactly as the one I ordered would go out to me as soon as they received the damaged one.

So! I received an email on 9-28-2013 with a tracking number.  I put it into UPS site, will expect delivery on 9-30-2013. But I noticed the shipping weight has went from 24lbs on the prior shipping and return labels to 9 lbs.  I had also received an email that I would not be getting the original damaged product but a different unit. I wait for the delivery...

Just checked the website again, right now there are 18 laptops listed, two of which are under $380.  The company running the site probably has limited stock (since I notice that some are refurb and some are new) so they only "restock" every few days to avoid running out.

My logic is, I seriously doubt anyone but the actual plaintiff actually had a problem with their floppy drive bad enough to feel like they were "owed" this money. To me it was a total freebie; you haven't lost any money at this point so why get so worked up about it? This is a "seconds" retailer trying to fulfill a court order, it ain't going to be like shopping at Best Buy for sure!
