I purchased Lenscrafters "highest quality" polycarb lenses 18 months ago. I recently developed discomfort wearing them only to discover the lenses have "clouded" due to light scratches. Went to Lenscrafters to learn what the problem was.  These are not my first pair at the age of 53. I was told it was my cleaning technique, and "I can't tell you why your previous pair never developed this problem", "you will have to bring them in", and "everyone gets their glasses from the same place, we are the biggest and the best, you'll have the same issues no matter where you go".  I went to the car, brought my previous pair in. "Oh, these are high index lenses, that's why they didn't scratch" in 3 years of use! Buyer beware - my web searches suggest  a pattern of  dishonesty (fraud in the case of the person who took care of me). Good-Bye Lenscrafters, Watchung, NJ (and all Lenscrafters) you've lost a family account.

Like the product I purchased from you, your custiomer service and ripoffreport.com response is everything we've come to expect from ridiculously large corporations. It is low quality wrapped in high grade clothing.

Wouldn't it have served the public interest better if you had either made an admission of error (assuming some form of investigation took place with Watchung) or perhaps stated how policy/process was being changed to prevent this from happening in the future? Just coming across your response today, I might have considered coming back!

If you were truly concerned, an investigation would have helped you pro-actively identify and contact me, rather than asking me to contact you. The chances of my reaching out to contact you are ZERO if it gets to a public forum like ripoffreport.com. I'm done if I'm here not working with you.

Your expression of concern is nothing more than no cost finesse for public relations appearances. I don't have any anomosity towards you Jamie, this would appear thisto be your job description. It is what you were hired to do. Your corporation shows no outward intentions of fixing a culture of poor customer service because that's more expensive than hiring you, to perform damage control. I wish you well in your career.

For the rest of you reading this, I was a customer of the Watchiung location. I came to those then in control with a problem with a product that was sold to me. My claim of manufacturing defect was not honored. I was lied to, by being told I purchased a top of the line but inferior product to one I had previously.  I haven't been contacted since (nor do I care).

And this is the problem with large corporations, they outgrow the need to act ethically. We've seen and continue to see tremendous examples of behavior that led the Roman empire into decline, and Luxoticca is making it's contribution by repeating the sins of the Roman Empire, globally. Luxoticca, for those of you that do not know, truly rules the world when it comes to eye care. Look them up. Pearl Vision, Lens Crafters, Sears, Sunglass Hut, Target Optical, they are all owned by the same parent company. They all get their products from the same sources.

Jamie, a courteous "thank you" to you and your management. My initial reporting represents the detailed and accurate account of events that led to my decision. Your offer of a point solution is neither satisfactory to me, nor in the best interests of the consumer.  I acknowledge pi$$ing in the wind with my message, but do so with tghe hope it will resonate with consumers, and corporations includiung Luxoticca who have a scintilla of ethics remaining within them.  Grazie.
