In researching this restaurant chain I found many other consumers who have complained about BAD SERVICE, long waits and dirty locations. Here is what I wrote to the President of Applebees:

Dear Sir:
I almost completed the online form but your site asked for my DOB and I see no reason to supply this information.
My complaint is about your location: 475 Franklin Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30067-7705 I have been at various Applebees a dozen times in the past year.
On Sat 1/26 at 1:20 pm I was at this location for lunch. It was not that busy but the sign at the door said "Wait to be seated", so I waited and I waited etc.
There were at least for staff I could see, none had any interest in me standing by the door. I lost interest in having lunch at Applebees and I left for IHOP which is not far away. They did not ignore me and I had as good a lunch there as I would have had at your place, it was also not as expensive as your menu.
I looked this location up at: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g35091-d466323-Reviews-Applebee_s-Marietta_Georgia.html and there were 24 reviews, many complained about the same lack of service I had, others on long waits to order and the place not being clean. I also see that the BBB gives your firm a D with 87 complaints, most never answered by you and cite as a reason for a D score "Failure to respond to 11 complaints filed against business".
You people at Corporate seem to be doing a poor job and also you should get some decent management in the Marietta location that will turn it around, there is no excuse for so many complaints about this one location.
