Complaint Review: Westwood Publishing

I have come to know this company after getting a call from a Remy as he talked about my book. He offered to reprint or republish my children's book as he found my book price to have been very expensive. Remy said that was all the reason why my book did not make to the stars. I knew he was right o begin with as I get many call saying my book's price is overly expensive. As he goes along his pitch he said somehting that I would get 100% royalty for all of my book sales which has added me the excitement to really push it.

I signed up to him and to his company back in May 2018, he said they will complete my book in 3-4 month time. It was  September when I checked in with him to see where is my book sitting now. This lady told me my book has gone through series of editing and I was adivsed to pay for the editing service. Now because I was after all for the completion of my book I paid for the said service. October when I checked back with him and I was told it was now in the layout stage. Throughout the month of October I got nothing but numerous phone calls but only got less responses. I waited patiently as I had nothing in mind but to have my book completed. November was a horrible month for me as my communication with this lady was horrible and frustrating. She's not giving me prompt response on my email. She never picked up my phone calls. It was very aggravating. 

In December, I got responses that I didn't really expect. I was told my book will be completed by January as there are some legworks needed and so I decided to get my money back. She said I can't get my money abck as has signed an agreement with her. So  totally found myself now in this big hole and I don't know how to get out of it. Good thing my brother's friend who is a lawyer helped me get out of this mess. My lawyer checked this company and found out they are not registered as a legitimate company at the Better Business Bureau. This comapny has just operated not even a year. 

I called my card company and I had my money back after this terrible battle with them. They even confimred Westwood to be not credible as a company. To all small and big time authors, please do heed this warning! If you get emails and phone calls from anyone in their organization, I dare you to think twice. This company is obviously a scam. I do not know how and where are they base as the address shown on their website is an even an office but a house. Working with this company will surely give you nothing but the worst nightmare you don't want.
