after sixteen months with werner, not making even half of what they promised, i was on my earned vacation and they terminated me. during my employment with werner my dispatchers alternately lied about me and threatened me. they have ruined my safety record, reporting false incidents, they have lied to prospective employers and have prevented me from receiving unemployment while i am trying to straighten out their deceptions. i am virtually unemployable after spending six thousand dollars with roadmaster driving school who encourages trainees to sign on with werner. What can i do?????

Jerry,

If you have 16 months OTR driving experience with no tickets or accidents, there is nothing Werner can do to keep you from getting a job.

You need to get a copy of your DAC report and see exactly whats on it. You have the right to dispute it, and add your 100 word statement.

You can get this report for free from DAC/USIS.

Any incidents they reported would have to be proven for them to stay on your report. And, you can sue them for the false statements.

Contact OOIDA for assistance in the DAC/USIS issues.

If they fired you, there should be no reason you could not appeal that unemployment issue. You must appeal in most cases with trucking companies.

There are many cpmanies that will hire you with total disregard for a negative DAC, as all they care about are CHARGEABLE accidents, tickets and drug/alcohol offenses, etc.

Good luck.
