I bought a cell phone and a service plan from Voicestream. They give you three days to return the phone and cancel your plan if you are dissatisfied. I was not receiving my calls and all circuits were busy when people were trying to call me.

I returned the phone and a sales rep told me that it was not the service, it was the phone. I decided since he was more of an expert than me that I would listen to him and give Voicestream another chance.

Unfortunately the issues and problems with the service continued. I could not get a signal in my house no one could reach me. So, I decided to go back to the store. They were nothing but rude to me and said that if I wanted to cancel now that I would have to pay $200.00. I called the 800 number for customer service and again nothing but rudeness and untrained customer service reps.

I then took my problem to the Regional Manager, he also could not help me. He would call me at work, which was a 732 area code, which I received perfect service in , and basically said that if he could reach me everyone else could too, eventhough I had no complaints about the service I received at work.

I finally just cancelled the service, by that time it was too late to get my money back from returning the phone. I just went with another service in the area, not Verizon though, that is the reason I was looking for a new cell phone plan in the first place.

I refused to pay the $200.00 cancellation fee! Eventually they brought it to a collections agancy. I explained to them my situation and they explained to me how my credit can be ruined, which I had perfect credit. He told me that they would settle for $156.00, still too high and not what I could afford, but in order to save my credit, I used my credit card to pay it off and the rep suggested that I take my matter to the Better Business Bureau.

I filed a complaint with the BBB and they contacted Voicestream. Voicestream then contacted me about my complaint and they said I needed physical evidence that I returned the phone the first time, which I had and sent to them.

I am still waiting on an answer as to the result of this mess and I tell everyone I know not to go to Voicestream!
