For anyone considering the Verizon Home Fusion service, I urge you to first check out the Community blogs at Community.Verizonwireless.com and search for Home Fusion Dropping Everyday. You will find many complaints about the reliability of the service. It's great when it works, but the service often disconnects several times a day, and sometimes goes out completely for days at a time. About 25% of the time it loses it's connection, the device will not reconnect on it's own and requires power cycling to restore service. By design, it only uses 4G service so it won't fall back to 3G, even if it's available.

Installers do nothing to verify the signal strength is adequate or mounting location is optimal and the testing is basically to open a few web sites and confirm it works. When the device fails, the amount of troubleshooting performed is limited to unplugging everything, waiting a couple minutes, and then plug it all back in again. If you purchased the Assurion protection plan, interior devices will be shipped to you in 2-3 days for you to swap out. If they determine the roof mounted antenna has to be replaced, that usually takes a week. You can ask for a daily credit to your bill while your system is down.

Verizon has stated that some or all of the issues are caused by a software problem and a fix was promised by the end of February 2013. To date no fix has been provided.
