Vantage Deluxe World Travel - Boston, MA I was diagnosed with Pneumonia on 5/27/15 and with a friend was booked with Vantage on their "Trans-Canada Rail Odyssey & the Rockies" trip commencing on June 3 in Vancouver and ending on June 13 in Toronto. Boston Massachusetts
We added 2 more days in Vancouver and were to depart via United Airlines today 6/1 from Chicago OHare. Obviously I am no condition to go on such a trip being an 80 year old with pneumonia. I called Customer Service with Vantage and since I have no insurance I will lose the entire 3 amount that i spent for the trip at $6,186
A companion and I were booked with Vantage on their "Trans-Canada Rail Odyssey & the Rockies" trip commencing on June 3, 2015. We added 2 more days in Vancouver and were to depart today on United at Chicago Ohare for Vancouver. I was diagnosed with Pneumonia on May 27 so I immediately tried to cancel my part of the trip. Since i have no insurance, I was told that I will lose the entire amount of $6,196. which is my share of the cost. I told my companion and we decided that her Daughter in Indianapolis was welcome to take my place providing she had a passport. Her daughter did have a passport and was really excited about taking my place of this 13 day trip from Vancouver to Toronto. Vantage Customer Service informed us that they could not accept a substitute for me because my portion was booked under my passport name. Even though my sub had a passport, it didnt matter so now, not only do I lose the entire $6,196. my companion loses her $6,196. share as well. I admit that I don't have a leg to stand on in this case since I didn't take out an insurance policy but somehow, because I am an 80 year old man with pneumonia, Vantage Travel screwed me. Thank you for hearing me out.
