I started at the UOP back in 2010 and it has been a struggle for me to finish. I am a single mother who works full-time and has two children that have disabilities that take on my full attention. I also told them I struggle with a learning disability and that it takes me longer then others to figure things out. I struggle with writting and reading. However, I finished one degree, my A.A degree in Human Services Management and decieded to get my B.A in Psychology. They told me it will be good for my counseling career I was trying to pursue. Halfway through this program they emailed me that this program is being reviewed by some special team because this program was not promising to students to get a job when they graduate from UOP. If the program failed then the U.S Department of Education was not going to fund students for this program and it would be up to the students to pay for it. I have been through so much with this school and invested 7 years of my life and money to believe they are something good. I need a lawyer and want to fight for justice and fairness.

#2Consumer Suggestion

If a University has to cancel a program when students are currently enrolled, they will be required by the accrediting agency to offer some plan for what we call "teach out" - graduate the remaining students while not letting new students enroll. There are a number of ways they can accomplish this. I checked their status with their accrediting agency (The Higher Learning Commission) and didn't see anything about the psych program being under review.

I would suggest you file an inquiry with the HLC.  If you can't get it resolved, there are MANY online psych programs at a fraction of the cost of UofP.

Good Luck!!
