We hired Universal Van Lines to move our belongings from our current home to our future home. We asked ahead of time whether or not they would be able to move us according to our schedule. We live in a condo, so keeping to a schedule is important.

The move was scheduled to begin at 8 AM. The day before the move, we were called and told that they would not begin until 12 noon. That added some stress to the move, since we were dealing with time restrictions, but they were confident they could finish before the condo's afternoon finish time.

On the day of the move, they did not show up at 12 noon. I called the office. I was not able to speak to a person. Instead, I left messages on the voice mail. At 1:30 PM, after receiving no word from Universal Van Lines, I went out and rented a truck, and my wife and I began to move ourselves.

At 4:40 PM, my phone rang. It was the driver. He insisted that IT WASN'T HIS FAULT! He said that dispatch gave him too much to do. I am so extremely outraged at this. Even if dispatch was irresponsible enough to over book their van, shouldn't the driver have called to say he was going to be late? This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with.
