Complaint Review: United Bank Card

I was shopping around for a Better merchant account than I had and the sales rep from United bank card came to visit me after looking at current statements from my existing merchant account came up with better rates and fee structure to sign me up. I specifically asked him if there was any contract and if I could cancel anytime and was told yes I could cancel anytime. He signed me up by sending me a filled in application to sign. He even told me he would not carge me any signup fee ( which I have never paid to any merchant services company). The very first charge I amde to the account was held up because my account was not setup to exceed a certain amount and I was charged twice the rate quotd to me (3.84% instead of 1.69%). Anyway every statement the rates were always higher than what I was told and every other charge was being held up for one reason or another. After a few months I decided to quit this company and look elsewhere. When I informed them I was canceling the account I was told that I was on a 3 year contract and they would charge me for the remaining months left on the contract. They have recently charged my account about $800 for canceling. They are the worst company I have ever done business with.
