Georgia Meyer, Marketing Specialist,  lied to my mom and gave inaccurate, false and misleading information about the cancellation procedures.  We are in the process of suing Georgia Meyer, Marketing Specialist,  and Timeshares by Owner for illegal practices covered by the DTPA Deceptive Trade Practices Act.  We have the right to sue for damages under the act and will win and prove that Georgia Meyers and Timeshares by Owner knowingly deceived my, elderly sick mom and she will be eligible to recover up to three times the damages, $2250.00.

My mom was scammed by Timeshares by Owner and Georgia Meyer.  Georgia Meyer contacted my mom about providing advertising services for her timeshare.  Georgia called and intimidated and harassed my mom for days.  I personally talked with Georgia and told her that my sister and I would talk it over with my mom and not to do anything.

My mom had just got out of the hospital, she was in a bad auto accident and broker her ankle, having to have emergency surgery, rehab and was under heavy medication at the time.

I told Georgia to call back and talk with us all together.  Instead she called my mom only and intimidated and convinced her to sign a contract and pay $750 on her credit card for advertising the timeshare.  When my mom told me, I immediately told her to cancel the services.  My mom called Georgia to cancel and Georgia told her it would take 3 months to get the $750 refund.  My mom immediatley disputed the charge with her credit card company.  Although the credit card company did issue her a refund, Timeshares by Owner disputed the chargeback and was able to get the $750 back off my mom's credit card.

Georgia practiced deceptive and misleading information to my mom, this was even confirmed by Kevin White, the Vice President  of Timeshares by Owner in an email.  (see below).

"You claim that you had informed the representative that sold you our services (within the ten-day timeframe) that you were canceling your services. If indeed, Ms. Meyer informed you that it would take three months to receive a refund; that is of course not true to our policy and I would understand you questioning that." Kevin White, the Vice President of Timeshares by Owner.
