Complaint Review: The Wharton Medical Clinic

The Wharton Medical Clinic should be shut down for scamming the Ontario Government out of (probably) millions of fraudulent billings to OHIP. OHIP should be investigating this clinic for fraud.

This place is supposedly a weight loss clinic, however most times you are not even seen by a doctor, just "educators." This place is negligent and dangerous. They pretty much resent overweight people and you can overhear some of the “educators” you meet before seeing the doctor in the hallway insulting other patients after they leave. They want to get you in and out as fast as possible.

All the Wharton Clinic does is weigh you and run a couple of tests - spread over the course of multiple visits, so they can bill the government numerous times and make more money - and then expect you to come back to "check in" repeatedly to keep being weighed. Wait times before scheduled appointments can be ridiculous - 30+ minutes.

They do not provide proper meal plans for clients. They do not provide proper workout plans. They do not listen to client concerns or co-morbid medical conditions, and carelessly push drugs even with contra-indications. The only difference between trying to use their services and trying to improve your health on your own is that you're wasting hours of your time with these so-called "professionals."

There is no professionalism and no respect for the patients they serve.

This clinic is a waste of time and actively preys on the hopes of vulnerable patients.
