I scheduled termite service on Saturday 6/10/06. The appointment was scheduled between 9 and 12. The technician did not show. I have called the service center two times; all they can do is answer the phone. There is no supervisor on duty.

They have no phone numbers for the technicians in the field. They said there will be no supervisor available until Monday. This is totally unacceptable. I have a termite problem in my house. So far I have called two times and was given a promise that someone was going to call me within 48 hours. That did not happen.

The third time I finally was able to get an appointment, however, nobody showed up. I have paid and paid for service that I am not getting. Terminix makes a lot of promises in their advertisement, however, fail to perform as promised. Should I contact another company and send a bill to Terminix? I am extremely disappointed.

TERMINIX LACK OF RESPONSE

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sun, June 25, 2006

If you are having trouble with Terminix coming to fix any termite problems and you are contracted with them, I suggest you contact the Attorney General and file a complaint. They do respond and Terminix will be forced to honor the terms and conditions of your contract in a timely manner. Make sure the contractor Terminix uses has a valid contractor's license to do the intended work, ask for an Accord certificate of insurance naming you as additional insured and make sure the contractor carries worker's comp insurance. You will have to sign a contract with the party doing the repair work, so make sure you have a start and end date for the work and a clause in the contract for liquidated damages for days past the end date (i.e., $250 a day, and stipulate that oayment in full comes from Terminix, not you. If the contractor asks you for any $$$$, tell them Terminix is paying for it under their contract with you.
