I am a retired and disabled senior citizen. I can't get out much anymore so I love to shop online. I have done business with all kinds of people.

On 9-10-2004 I decided to try ordering from Target Stores at target.com but that was a huge mistake. Today 11-15-2004 my cousin was off work so he TRIED to make a simple return and refund for me to Target. I spent FIVE HOURS(5) talking to so called "supervisors" and "managers" that obviously were just OCCUPYING a spot but with NO REAL AUTHORITY.

The total of my refund was only a measly $107.26 and yet nobody could authorize a refund although I had ALL copies of reciepts. It seemed as if the problem was when I placed the order it had a VERT TINY "web only" that I just didn't see. These "web only" items must be mailed back to Target's return unit in Kentucky.

Nobody had authority or desire to assist me in any way. I know for a fact that they could have issued a refund, taken the merchandise *TWO ITEMS* and they could have sent it to Kentucky.

This is a terrible way to treat a potential new and REGULAR customer.As far as I'm concerned Target Stores will NEVER get another penny from me.

The second part of my disgust with Target Stores is that they have decided to NOT ALLOW THE SALVATION ARMY on their property this year for Christmas to take donations for the poor and needy. The Salvation Army predicts a loss of over $100,000.00 as a result of this alone. This money would have gone to those folks that have fallen on hard times to help pay rent, buy their kids toys for Christmas, food,and other things. As far as I can see TARGET STORES are evil and heartless people. These "bellringers" don't force themselves on anyone they simply ring their bell and wish folks a Merry Christmas.

I would urge everyone to NOT purchase a single thing from Target Stores. They are discriminating as to who they want on their property.

They are basically just like a different company - although not. Confusing? Yes. Target.com has items that the stores don't. Some that are cheaper online, and some that you can't return in store.

I'm not entirely fond of the Target.com return policies - but please realize that the stores have no say in it, and no ability to change anything.

To the person who said Target stores and Target.com are not the same company "ARE YOU SERIOUS". PLease think before you post idiotic staements on the site.

To the edlerly person I sympathise with you. It is VERY hard to return items to target.com. Further there are is no redress to issues you have on the site. Target.com web site says you may return items via the site or to a target store neat you. AFTER the sale you get the bad news.

I would agree if you dont like Target dont shop there - I dont.

First of all, how do you know for a FACT that they could have issued a refund? If they could have they would.. simply to not have to deal with an upset customer!

Secondly, Target stores do not and cannot just mail back items to Target.com for you. It just doesn't workt that way. I have ordered online myself, and returned items via mail to Target.com. It was easy. Good luck at shopping at the competition.. it only gets worse. I not only work at a Target store, I shop there as well(and I will not shop at Walmart or Kmart). So this is coming from a shopper and an employee.

Ok, so you seem to understand the concept that when it says the item can only be returned through the mail. So why are you throwing a fit because you tried to reutrn it at the store? Do you not understand that when it says return by mail ONLY, then you can't return it at the store. It's common sense.

And I'm sick of hearing about the Salvation Army. As far as I see it, they deserve nothing.

First of all, how can you Mr. Phillip, possibly judge a person's spirituality based solely on what those few sentences she typed said? If you are such a true practicing Christian, shouldn't you know that it is not yours to judge her heart? Anyway, on to the reason for typing this, the ONLY reason that Target is not allowing bellringer is THE EXACT SAME REASON WAL-MART ISN'T ALLOWING THEM, it's a matter of their corporate-wide policy of no solicitation on the grounds of the store, no Satan worshipping decision on the part of some bum licking executive who thinks they want to starve some children....ok? If they didn't hold to their policy strictly, somebody would be suing because this Christian organization is allowed to solicit there but no others are. You know that would happen this day and age. That's the straight fact, they are following their policy.

I always go to Target or K-Mart since they don't have the same clientelle as wally World. Some of us prefer clean organized stores, and less than a million people looking to save a nickel, to the disaster that one finds in a WalMart. But, now I know I'll be going to Target almost exclusively. NO BELL RINGERS!!! YAY! I can go shopping now without having to hear those stupid clangers blanging away during the Holidays. Sweet Halleluah.

First off: If you are so concerned with the Salvation Army send them a check! I'm sure they would accept it. Personally, I have no interest of supporting a charity that discriminates. But that's another story.
Second: Your return situation was only made difficult because of YOU! Print out a prepaid return label and be done with it! Target.COM is not the Target stores.
Why should Target pay if you simply changed your mind? Contact Target.COM with your "problem" and leave the store alone.

I am only rebutting the lady who rebutted my original report.

You evidentally are NOT a Christian woman because
of you ignorant remark. No money is not bigger than Christ. However, the mark of true Christian and even just good people is that you HELP those less fortunate than you are. The Salvation Army has been doing the work of Christ for more years than any of us have been alive. If you would get a copy of the Bible you would learn that what The Salvation Army is ONLY FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST'S EXAMPLE.
