Same story...

Applied for my $30 "rebate" sending all the requested information. Symantec followed the same behavoir pattern as has been reported numerous times on this site. I received a denial of rebate postcard for the trumped-up reason of "Missing Original Proof of Purchase".

Come on you guys. End the charade. The proof of purchase was in there, I know it was and so do you. Look at my copies (posted here).

I'm convinced they have a protocol of tactics to first deny your rebate. Then string out the issue, causing the consumers so much frustration that they will eventually give up on their rightful rebate and go away.

Email the company, send them a jpeg of your copied proof of purchase and they won't even acknowledge the visual proof. They start again at square one, requesting name, ID #, product rebate offer etc.

Symantec you are acting like a company that is planning to pack it all up and fold in the near future. "Let's milk every last dollar out of our unsuspecting (and loyal) customer base and then we'll burn 'em to the ground, make 'em so fuming mad that they will never buy another of our products again."

I know I won't. In fact I am thinking long and hard about ever buying anything with a rebate again. Are you listening CompUSA, Best Buy?

The computer using public is growing weary of your phony rebate scam. It's time to end the rip-off scheme. Lower the price if you want to move the product. Let's end the rebate charade.
