Well, I thought I was helping a young man out. I had just moved to a new town of about 4000 people. The town is a very nice community with an excellent school system. A young man came around and said that he was from the local high school and wanted to gain points for a trip. He said that they were doing this to build comminication skills. I bought a subscription that I really didnt need to help him out. I thoght I would give the company a call to see how it was coming along because it had been while. Looked on the internet for a phone number and noticed all of these scam reports for the company. Found a number that was supposed to be for this company and it turned out to be for some clothing company that was filing a law suit against Sunshine for selling subscriptions for their "free catalog". I continued to search more about this company and found a phone number to the Palmetto Marketing group. The lady that answered the phone was extremely rude. She answered the phone in a really raspy and irritated voice stating "Customer Service". I said "Hello, I am calling this number looking for the Palmetto Marketing Gropu".

"Yes, This is them."

"Well, I recently ordered a subscription for a magazine and then found some information about this being a ripoff."

Well of course me saying that didnt make her any happier.
"NO it is not a ripoff, it clearly states on your receipt to wait 90 to 120 days for the arrival of your subscription. What is your receipt number so I can verify your order."

I gave it to her and of course she had the correct infomation. I will now wait until I hit the 121st day and if I still have not received my first one, I will call them and tell them that they have breached a contract and I want my money back or I will be filing a civil suit against their company. I will not ever order form their company again and I do not suggest anyone to order form them. When the guy comes around again to my neighborhood, I will be letting him or whomever it is know that I am going to call the police. I do not know if the people selling these subscriptions are aware of what a scam it is, but what I do believe is that they know that there is something fishy about it.

If you are a young person and you are interested is doing this, please understand that you are getting scammed also. You will probably be filled with a bunch of empty promises and you will also be assisting in committing a crime.

And so I just want to reitterate what I have said about the Palmetto Marketing Group. It was stated in another complaint that this would be the company to contact if there were any problems. Well this company did not present itself very well to me and I am very dissatisfied with the overall representation of both companies.
If anyone knows any more information on these companies and also if anyone has actually recieved their order will you please let me know.
Thanks

Melissa
